Dan Rafael says Top Rank is not interested in signing the Ghost even if he is a free agent.
A top source from TR told Dan why would they sign the Ghost?
To make a fight with Pac who the hell would want to see that fight.
I think they sign him it doesn't make sense for him to make a move like that with out a plan to face someone..TR probably had this planned for a while.
They are lying. Why would they immediately say no one would want to see him fight Pac if they weren't thinking about him fighting Pac? That is how these promoters operate, they strongly deny the things that they actually have intentions on doing. They could easily sign the Ghost because he is a welter weight and TR only has like 4 decent welters and the public is more than done with the rehashed matchups.
They could put him up against Alvarado or Provodnikov or Bradley. Pac is the first name they refute which means they are thinking about pitting him against Pac. It provides another comparison between how Floyd and Pac fared against a common opponent, just like Mosley, Hatton, Cotto and DLH did.
Then you have Floyd's own dad saying that if Pac wants to fight Floyd, he needs to beat either Canelo or Guerrero. It's pretty clear what is going on here.
I don't think TR is too interested in signing him...he doesn't possess the kind of excitement alvarado, prov and rios bring when they fight nor has he accomplished anything close to bradley or pac. aydin and berto have been horribly exposed these past two years...
the determining factor with refusing to sign guerrero is that he has no fanbase whatsoever...he's failed as a ppv fighter and he's been inactive. hbo has been very picky with the fights they buy (with the exception of european fighters whom they either groom or offer optional broadcasting deals). he's probably demoted himself to being an undercard fighter so it doesn't make sense for a major promotional company to sign him at this point
The Ghost keeps digging himself deeper and deeper. he should have went for broke in the Floyd fight like he did with Berto. Instead he pulled some stupid $h!t and sat in he middle of the ring and tried to box. Then he ducked Thurman and is now trying to break free of his contract. What a fool. Having a fight is better than having no fight.
lol would be pretty funny if that happened. He royally screwed himself. But with roach saying tr wants someone from gbp the. The next day we hear about ghost it kinda makes sense
i love this sig ! **** all of them . *****s

Good. He put on one of the worst no-show performances in a championship fight in recent memory.
That title belongs to Canelo, he did even worse then Guerrero
I forgot to put they have zero interest on signing the Ghost.
TR's WW stable isn't bad but it's thin. If they have a chance I don't see why they wouldnt sign him.
They don't have to sign him to deal with him. He can sign with 50 :dunno: Contrary to popular saying, Top Rank actually works with other promoters a good deal.
I just don't think they'll sign him for the kind of money he might think he's entitled to now, but otherwise I'm sure they're interested in talking after Guerrero officially becomes a free agent.
I don't buy that for one second. Are u forgetting whose the one running the show at top rank. Aka THE BOBFATHER bob arum. He's not dumb he's not gonna get his name thrown around in that legal issue with the ghost and Gbp.remember arum is a lawyer. But eventually Robert will sign with top rank. Look for maidana to make the switch in the future as well You could be right. I wouldn't mind seeing him go to TR. GBP wanted to put him in there against Thurman, Swift and maybe Broner.Robert didn't like the offer against Thurman and he turn the fight down. The Ghost is not happy with GBP after they had him fight near his hometown in San Jose agains't Yordan. He headlined two main events Aydin,Berto and got the Mayweather fight. He's not going to get that big money maybe he can get it with TR.
Getting him for one big fight is better than not getting him at all, no?
Anyway, Guerrero's stock will be reduced after losing to Pacquiao so once they make that money off him he'll not be much of a loss financially.
IMO, just leave him as a free agent and get him for one fight.
That or sign him to a two fight deal.... long term deal, he'll just burn you.

Anything is possible, but that right there is unlikely because Al Haymon is Maidana's manager. And Arum is not fond of Haymon whatsoever. And Haymon wouldn't send any of the fighters he manages to Top Rank either.
Would anybody want to sign a guy who forced his way out of his past 2 promoters?
