No. What a joke

You're repping James Kirkland. You shouldn't be talking about a multi-divisional champion as being a joke. Kirkland was KOd by a fighter with less power, skill and technique than Paulie Malignaggi.
Not that I probably care but why didn't Calzaghe and Ottke ever fight? Was there ever rumours or interest considering they were champions at the same weight class for some years.

Why is it a joke,,, how many 2 division lineal champs are jokes,,,,
what fighters from 2000 on would beat calzaghe,,, outside of manny, floyd,,, joe beats pretty much everyone,,, winky, tito, hopkins, serg, cotto, froch, etc
Why do you consider him a joke,,,, can you name another 2 division lineal champ that was a joke
I disagree,, I think a lineal championship is about the only thing that is worth a damn anymore,,, all the paper titles n champs like hopkins beating cloud, oritz beating berto, etc,, those are meaningless IMO, but lineal is something that still holds prestige to me,, if someone beat ward at 168 or floyd at 147 or wlad, or garcia at 140, serg at 160, if you get a win like that, it should mean something,,, and Calzaghe did it twice,,,,, You cant name any low level fighters that accomplished that feat,,, its only HOF caliber guys
Calzaghe beat kessler who had 2 belts, and lacy had the 4th belt, plus bika who would become a paper champ,, then beating hopkins who beat tarver who beat roy jones,, Wins like those are terrific IMO
in terms of donaire, he will probably get in,, i dont think he is an ATG, and i think he beat alot of smaller guys or big guys that werent very good ie mathbalu,,,, Donaire truely showed his class vs rigo
Donaire was just an example of 2 weight Lineal Champion who isn't a lock for the HOF.
Of course the Lineage means something and holds prestige but it's just a paper accomplishment now. Being a Lineal Champion doesn't really mean that much it depends who it is.
He's a Lineal Champion in two weak divisions.
Like I said, Lineal Champion or not his resume just isn't strong enough IMO. It's really as simple as that for me.
Donaire has two, I don't think he's a sure fire for the HOF.
I can't really think of any but it doesn't really matter that's just something that's on paper. "Lineal Champion" doesn't really mean all that much these days.
What matters the most to me is resume and Calzaghe's resume is simply not good enough for a sure-fire HOF'ers IMO. He's in now so what I say doesn't matter but he's far from what I'd consider a "definite" HOF'er. Atleast for his Boxing accomplishments.

I get what your saying in your post,,, but for the bold,, what other 2 division lineal champs were there, that wasnt great HOF caliber fighters,,
One lineal championship can be achieved by lesser fighters ie baldomir, buster douglas, mayorga, etc... But i cant recall a 2 division lineal champ that wasnt HOF caliber,, what guys am i missing that were 2 div lineal champs, your knowledge of history goes way beyond mine, but i really cant think of a non-HOF guy that won 2 different lineal divisions,, When i think of multiple division lineal champs i think of armstrong, ross, duran, floyd, etc

Depends, I don't think every 2 weight Lineal champion should be in the HOF, no.
I haven't got an issue with him getting in. He's boarderline IMO I.e I'd understand if he was and I'd understand if he wasn't.
Like I said, I wouldn't vote for him. His resume is just not strong so most of the times there's candidates that I'd vote for instead. For example this year my 3 candidates would have been Trinidad, Oscar and Kingpetch.

You dont think being a 2 division lineal champ is enough for a HOF induction..
I dont think he is an ATG, but most certainly a HOFer,
In his era, since 2000, i think he is one of the top 10 fighters p4p.. and i think the only guys clearly ahead of him are floyd, manny, roy, hopkins, and he owns a win over 2 of those guys albiet roy was old and shot....
Being a lineal champ is a great feat, but being 2 division lineal champ and being undefeated is a remarkable feat
H2h if same size, i would favor calzaghe over ward, winky, tito, tarver, pavlik, taylor, mosely, cotto, froch etc
Barrera and morales would be the level i put calzaghe on.....
Yes he cherrypicked alot, but also cleared out a division,
I just dont see how he isnt a HOFer IMO

No doubt,,, he is def a HOFer,,, he isnt an ATG, but def one of the top guys of his era...
Since 2000 he would be a top 10 p4p guy
Lineal champ in 2 divisions,,,,, enough said
Yeah he definitely ducked Glen Johnson during his career, that right, I forgot that. But I don't think there was any demand for him to fight Dawson by that time. LHW was starved, didn't really have any stars. He should have fought Pavlik and not Jones to enhance his legacy. It would really have dwarfed Wards legacy (which is closing in fast) if he had taken a last bout against Froch to finish things off, but nobody in the world knew what Froch would go on to become. Resume is not perfect by any means, even though the zero suggests it, it's enough to get into HOF.
I would of liked to see the Dawson fight but wasn't mad at Joe for going for the money against Roy. Garbage win though.
to be fair though, he shouldn't have ever fought manfredo. Dawson or Froch wasnt ready but Manfredo was?
Manfredo had some US leverage, by being in a tv-show ( the contender I think ), so it made sense money wise, not legacy wise. At that point, nobody really paid much attention to Froch or Dawson.
Dawson was undefeated IBF LHW champ, he'd beaten Tarver twice, Glen Jhnson and Tomasz Adamek. Many people were calling for that fight or the Pavlik fight, but he chose shot to shît Roy Jones Jr instead.
Calzaghe deserves his place in the IBHOF though, I'd just wish he'd gone out on a good win.
