First he says I want to stay focused on 160. I get that part. You can argue he still has a lot to prove there. Then he says he wants Chavez Jr in the same interview. That's where you loose me. Chavez Jr couldn't make 170 his last fight but GGG wants him? And at the same time he wants no part of Ward.
I think he's got P4P ability. He's already in his 30s. He's already doing great numbers on HBO. Why isn't this dude on the fast track to super stardom? It's time to take the kid gloves off with this dude. I want to see him challenged physically. No more hand picked bums and blown up JMW's.
He needs to move up to 168. There he can start off with the Abraham's and Stieglitz of the world, who would be a huge step up in competition anyway.
Golovkin beats Abraham day and night.
Rigo obviously had no choice to move quickly because he defected late in life. Also Donaire actually fought him, which would be the equivalent of Martinez fighting Golovkin.
Notice how Rigondeax and Golovkin turned pro as men (28, 25 respectively). That's why they haven't moved up in weight because they are fully grown. Broner turned pro at age 19 his body was obviously still growing. He was a monster at 130/135 and it was shown when he failed to make weight he was out growing those divisions. Hell, Chavez jr started his career at 130 pounds! This is what happens when you have kids turn pro. Rigo and Golovkin turned pro as men, they aren't growing.
Explain that to all those people on the internet that think a WW, even if it is Floyd Mayweather, should move up to 160 and fight GGG. Floyd's almost 37. People are actually accusing him of ducking GGG. You see the hypocrisy I'm talking about?
Chavez is a former champion with a big following lol what are you smoking? Still not answering my question I see.
Geales promoter did not say HBO flat out rejected it but said they are exploring other options as well.
Paper champion you mean. Wasn't he fed a title against some no name bum? Uh yes. And I answered your question. I said move up. I thought everybody from 160 to 175 was ducking this dude. I'm sick of watching GGG fight these over matched cream puffs. But guys like Broner, Danny Garcia, and others get criticized on sites like this one. It's bull ****. Rigo with 13 fights is fighting better competition than this guy. Who can fight by the way. I never said GGG was a bum. I'm just sick of the hypocrisy.
Why not answer my question? Would you rather see GGG vs Chavez or GGG vs fringe contenders like Adama and the likes? Since Murray, Quillin, Martinez, Barker, Sturm are not options, why not Chavez? Only other options are James Kirkland (who GGG will get zero credit for) or hopefully Geale (if HBO picks ot up).
Chavez at 160 is a fringe contender. Geales promoters already on record saying HBO passed on that match up. So move up and start taking the big money fights. GGG is already over 30. It's time to take the kid gloves off already. The guy has P4P ability. Go hawks by the way.
A cherry pick fight are you serious?! Lol Golovkin has been begging to get in the ring with Martinez, Murray, Geale, Sturm, Barker. Everyone turns him down so he has to fight guys like Rosado, Macklin and Stevens. Would you rather see GGG vs Chavez or GGG vs fringe contenders like Adama and the likes? No brainer.
I forgot I'm on NSB. It's everybody else's fault except the fighter you like.

At 160 it's a cherry pick fight.
Chavez jr represents a big payday, Ward is evening calling out Chavez jr and he never calls out anyone. bottomline is that all so called middleweight champs are avoiding him because they know they can't beat GGG

Think he wants Chavez because maybe he knows he's not a ducker and he brings in the money lol...
I think he is still on the track to stardom. Just not super stardom. His english isn't good enough and his personality isn't dynamic enough.
He can't 'step up' anymore than he has at MW because everyone else is ducking him. And honestly this is just my opinion, but he looks like a blown up JMW himself. He'll probably top out at 168 but he's in no hurry to go there. At some point the guys at MW have to stop ducking and step in there to get dealt with by him.
your serious? you serious? yea i serious. ok. mang.
i respec box. i respec everybody. i respec everybody, agnes. i respect everybodys box, you know?
this is spor for me first. amen.
gwan to home, just tell your parents just hi. i come back. thank you.
When has he ever said he'd move up. Sure he's whiling to fight any of the best WWs out there. Any other fighter gets called a cherry picker. So basically that argument applies to every fighter not your favorite. You guys would be raping Broner for the same exact thing. Canelo and Danny Garcia too. Floyd **** don't get me started.
What is it there is not to get? He wants big fights and is willing to go up or down in weight. He's a real warrior. Stop bitching.

I use t think Chavez Jr wold go the distance with Golovkin, but now.. naw he gets stopped./ Look at wat mertinez did to his eye. Golovkin power at least 3 time sbetter than his.Too much for Chvez he won't be able to hurt the good boy
Um what is the problem here? Chavez has stated he can make 160. Whether thats true or not who knows. Obviously GGG vs Golovkin is an appealing fight at any weight class.
His last fight he couldn't make 170. Chavez Jr is a cherry pick fight and you know it.
Maybe he was thinking about this

The interview is on fight hype. I didn't post it because last time I posted a fight hype interview they closed the thread.
He was asked if there was 1 fight to make at 160 who would you pick. And he said Chavez Jr because he's a great champion LMAO. He also said the obvious that boxings a business and Chavez has a big name blah blah blah. The same thing that fighters like Floyd, Broner, Cotto, Canelo, and others get called duckers for taking the same type of fights.

I didn't watch the interview. Did he say he wants Chavez Jr. or he wants Chavez Jr at 160?
