If the opponents willing to get carried, I feel like he should blast them away. It just doesn't make sense to me.
Besides the point, yes, he should stop clinching.
I have a feeling if Manny Steward was still here then the last fights Wlad had would have been much more exciting, I think he's at a psychological point where hes got a certain way of winning a fight and he doesn't dare to risk v anyone, he has sort of banished his killer instinct that got him excitement but also in trouble in his younger days. And Jon Banks doesn't exactly push him in the corner like Manny did - I think with his encouragement and support Wlad would drop the (steel) hammer :boxing: a lot more. Shame, really...
Look at my sig, in that fight it was almost the end of round 12, the 11 rounds were dominant but carrying Chambers, Manny drummed into him 'Knock this MOFO out' and that's what he can do when he really wants to...
Most definitely, from a fans point of view none of us can argue lol, we all want to be entertained. But I think it does work both ways, if the opponents are happy with just being carried through fights and having no ambition, I don't think its too fair on Wlad to be blamed completely, although of course he can avoid some situations like excessive clinching. :boxing:

HAHA, you know what I meant. And good points. I agree with mostly everything, although I feel like, even if you are the big time fighter, you should still put on exciting fights. You owe it to the fans.

I don't think anyone disputes his power and how good it is...the only grievance of the fans is that he doesn't use it as often or explosively as he can or should. Compare with Kovalev, he goes out there with bad intentions and doesnt give A.F about ending a fight in 1 round even if the fans come to see a show. Klitschko sells out arenas and carries fights and fighters these days, what can you say...that particular audience that pays him enjoys those types of systematic beatdowns. Kovalev might be the same once he's really big time and selling out arenas in his own right. When you are a contender, you have to impress more imo, once you are champ it becomes more about winning, if you have a winning, unbeatable style why not stick with it, it's the responsibility of a challenger to find a solution.
On the subject of him getting KO'd, cmon...he was never legit OUT. 2 times punched himself out and the other instance being simply punched out due to ****iness and bad defence v a guy who was a legit beast...Sanders had power that would be devastating guys like Kovalev is if he was fully commited and in shape, and Wlad always got up. No-one is saying his chin is good, he's liable to getting hurt but I don't think we can question his heart or determination. :boxing:

I don't know how anyone can think that Wlad doesn't have power. It seems like just yesterday he was knocking the crap outta folks, but also getting KOd in the same breathe.
He has legit power, but he changed his style, and became unbeatable.

Pacman's devastatingly powerful combinations would topple Waldomir.
Manny Pacquiao > Antonio Margarito > Sergio Martinez > Kelly Pavlik > Jermain Taylor > Bernard Hopkins > Antonio Tarver > Nagy Aguilera > Oleg Maskaev > Hasim Rahman > Corrie Sanders > Wladimir Klitschko
Now this is what I'm talking about. Wlad has been ducking Pacquiao for years
If the klits bros knew how to throw a proper punch I don't think anyone would make it out the first round alive they are to dam big tall and powerful thanks to peds
Zou Shiming KOs Wlad and Kovalev
I find it highly unlikely that Shiming would KO either...however I do think he has enough power to stagger them badly. They would feel it for sure.
