Andre makes good points. I can't think of a single fighter whose career can't be given criticism. Whether we are talking Manny, Floyd, Andre, Hopkins, Leonard, Ali, or Marciano. I am honestly tired of having a conversation about boxing with people outside this site and the discussion always goes to either Floyd or Manny, as if they are the very cornerstones upon which the sport rises and falls. Both hall of famers, both accomplished what noone else in their era accomplished, and both will be remembered in the sport until someone else comes along and surpasses their legacy.
Why can't the fans just choose who they want their ppv money go towards. Ppv option #1 split/ option #2 Floyd/ option 3 Manny.
Technology can can make this public and we can see the results live. Boxing has so much money but doesn't take advantage of what technology can bring. This old school infrastructure is keeping the sport behind.
they agreed to fight at 144, JMM weighed in at 142(after his last fight being at 135lbs) and floyd didnt weigh in at the contractual agreed upon weight. you know the deal....quit playing stupid kid
If weighed in at 142 he wasn't a lightweight. What he weighed in his previous fight is irrelevant. Unless you want to claim he was a lightweight or jr welterweight when he fought welterweight Pacquiao too.
Did Marquez weigh 135 for that fight? I must have missed that part of it.

"I think Manny has a great legacy, but we got to be honest about some of his fights though. The De La Hoya fight, that’s a fight I don’t know how it would of played out if De La Hoya had been able to come in full strength, but it’s no secret that De La Hoya really had to suck himself down. Cotto had to lose weight."
how about floyd fighting a lightweight in jmm and floyd not making the contracted weight, how bout floyd fighting canelo and making canelo lose weight? wards become a biased hater too....why doesnt he ask the same questions of his partner floyd?

"but Manny has fought everybody, he’s kind of a throw back from that standard."
 I guess the HBO propaganda brainwashed him too.Pac-juicer has avoided Zahir Raheem,Nate Campbell,Juan Guzman,Yuri Foreman,Mark Too SHarp Johnson,Tim Austin,Rafeal Marquez,Floyd Mayweather back in 2010 when he refused testing even though Floyd offered him 50%,Mosley when he had something left.
wamp wamp waaaaamp.....

That's an opinion. Everyone can have an opinion. But the following three are facts:
1. Floyd's best PPV number (Floyd Oscar) is almost 1 million more than Pacquiao's best PPV number (Pacquiao Marquez).
2. Floyd agreed to 50:50 and $10M/lb penalty.
3. Pacquiao refused random PED testing with no cutoff date.
Actually his biggest ppv draws were with Mosley & Oscar.
Every fighter the "Golden Boy" touched turned into gold/a draw. The guy is the king.
1. (#1 Floyd PPV) Oscar Floyd 2.5 million PPV buys
2. (#1 Pacquiao PPV) Pacquiao Marquez III 1.45 million PPV buys
3. (#2 Floyd PPV, although #1 in PPV revenue) Floyd Canelo 2.2 million PPV buys
4. (#2 Pacquiao PPV) Pacquiao Mosley 1.3 million PPV buys
5. 148 lbs Pacquiao beat 147 lbs Oscar in the ring.
6. 151 lbs Floyd beat 170 lbs Oscar in the ring.
7. Floyd agreed to 50:50 and $10M/lb penalty.
8. Pacquiao refused random PED testing with no cutoff date.
9. When Floyd tried to make the fight happen, Arum said no, they HAVE to build an outdoor stadium first.
10. If Floyd copromotes with Top Rank, he will have to share the profits with Bob Arum and HBO, his direct, hostile competitors. Apparently, Pacquiao supporters can't understand why it's a bad business move to share a huge profit with direct, hostile competitors, when you could just wait them out instead.
I guess stuck on stupid is the rally cry for 2014
Remember thats what happened to Sergio Martinez..
Martinez was the big scary man that Mayweather was ducking....
And then...Martinez calls out Pacquiao at a CW of 151-153...And Pac fans tottaly flipped, Martinez has been labeled a old man cherry picker every since.
By page 5 of that thread Manny was 5'5", by page 15 he was 5'2" without his shoes on.

Since when did this become about Floyd and Arum.
Meanwhile, Andre Ward is fighting to a capacity crowd of 7
So you don't think there's any reason at all why team Pacman did not want to fight Cotto without a catchweight??
I think at the time they believed 147 was a risk for Pacquiao, a risk (according to the old quotes) they were only prepared to take for financially lucrative fights like Oscar and Floyd. Roach kept repeating Cottos size advantage in the build-up, they were worried about it.
As it turns out imo they need not have worried about it, Pac handled the move up with ease and went on to beat more opponents at 147 and 150.
Fair enough, chalk it up to a bad career move. I still don't think it's fair that everyone blamed Ward for Dawson's peformance. Dawson challenged Ward for his title at 168lbs and he accepted, end of story.
Nor do I. I don't think it made much difference either, I think Ward would still have dominated him at 170-172lbs. He's just better than Dawson.
Maybe he should listen to his own lawyer. Or the consultants that warned him about financial discrepancies in the books.
Maybe he shouldn't have refused Mayweather's request for PED testing when Floyd already made TWO concessions in that negotiation (50:50 for the clear #2 PPV draw, and $10M/lb over 147)
Whatever.
The point remains, the little dude has a legacy that Andre Ward can only dream about at this point.
Lol, Let Glovokin diss Pacquiao's resume, he becomes a coward and bum overnight.
True. They'd be talking about how his resume is trash and how Manny is the real face of HBO. Instead of cosigning a floyd fight they'd be asking for the Ward fight.
Oscar actually weighed in at 190 lbs that night, so Floyd beat a guy that was 40 pounds heavier than him.
#skillzpaydabillz
That's not Floyd biggest win, he was at a 400 pounds disadvantage when he beat BigShow.
