Seriously.... tell me right now.
He's been the interim for a while, got to keep his fake belt after Sergio so he can challenge the full champion and just flat out refuses time and time again.
2 reason why we though he accepted to be on the Monaco card.
1. He was trying to build up (against weak opposition that in no way would indicate a build up fight and warm up fight was out the window since he fought in December against a guy who gave him trouble) a fight for Golovkin in the future.
2. He was going to fight for the regular belt and finally become a world champion while bypassing the current champion (Thank god the WBA refused that B.S).
Now he's targeting Sturm.....while he's fighting on the undercard of the guy he's supposed to fight?
This is sad....there are more people who have claim over him.
Soliman- Beat, albeit controversially, Sturm at home. Although it doesn't count, Soliman is the mando and I thought Sturm won rather easy. Of course he'll want to do that first to get the mando out of the way.
Barker- He has a rematch clause and if he stays in, could fight Sturm one more time in England.
Macklin- His fight was a lot closer than Murray's. Only reason this doesn't happen is if Sturm doesn't want to lose.
Geale- This guy actually beat Sturm at home. There's a blemish he'd want to right. He's also #3, so if Sturm were to fight and beat Soliman, he'd fight somebody in an eliminator for number 1 spot and Sturm could have another mandatory fight were he wipes a blemish clean off
Other lower ranked guys for home voluntaries.
I don't believe this guy... he has a title shot sitting there staring him in the face and he's only talking about Sturm and Martinez.
Yea those are money fights, but those are money fights he isn't going to get, especially Martinez.
Mayweather, Marquez, Cotto, even Peterson was mentioned after he "beat" Khan.
Mayweather.... lol... if you really think Mayweather was a possibility, why're we talking about this?
Marquez, they aren't going to do another rematch on PPV while they still have that farce of a third fight in their minds.
Peterson isn't getting a fight over Bradley. Dubious win and Bradley already making him look like nothing
Bradely was second running at worst behind Cotto
Also Sturm is different because none of the options Sturm has will never turn him down, ever.
Seriously, tell me how Murray is taking priority over Soliman, Geale and any other low class MW he could fight for the same amount?
One person in front of Bradley in a PPV matchup that has to be appealing for the public to buy... good job, you destroyed my argument of Soliman, Geale and countless other voluntaries the German public won't care about but will pay for in front of Murray

Look, this will happen and you can praise me for being an all mighty Psychic.
Sturm will fight Soliman in the Spring and then another Voluntary later this year all while making straight cash
That'll be why they offered Cotto the fight then?

Bradley was signed and put into the Casamayor fight specifically to build up to a Pacquiao fight. He was a first choice if there ever was one.
That'll be why they offered Cotto the fight then?
The one Cotto said hell no to because of the catch weight?
I'm talking about actual contenders to fight like Soliman, Geale.... I'll remove Barker fornow since he doesn't even know if he's fighting again yet.
then he requested the same catch weight against margarito lol
They offered Cotto the fight too

Arum mentioned it and Sturm mentioned Murray.
Bradley was about 4th or 5th choice to face Pacquiao so sometimes the stars just align

Behind who?
Floyd and Juan?
Who else was in front?
Mike Jones was on the undercard to win a belt for a future fight, look how that worked out.
Rios? Rios wasn't even in talks until early 2013

Okay, so when Arum outright says he can match Bradley up with Pacquiao... that means nothing and there's no future implications?
That was the plan, he was gonna take a "title" and run with it.
That's not happening now.
He had a controversial draw. What're the chances that Sturm rematches a guy who almost beat him compared to guys who actually beat him?
Soliman had a controversial win and has a mandatory shot
Geale has a legit win and is the number three with the number 2 spot empty. An eliminator in between the Soliman fight will make him the mando.
Barker has a rematch clause and if he heals up and comes back for one fight could happen.
Stick pointless voluntaries in there to keep him tuned up and where does Murray fit in? He'll make as much money fighting somebody like Truax or some other bottom barrel WBA kid. Everyone is now going for Sturm in Germany, even Macklin, and Macklin did better

I agree with that, but that's a big line to cross, he is one breakout fight away for sure. But right? I am positive I can walk outside and ask a random person and they won't know who he is. Heck even in my own gym, sadly. The younger fighters wouldn't know him, the trainers would.
I think Manny and Floyd are the only real people that the general public will now....maybe a few others like B-Hop.
That line... I don't now if Golovkin can cross it.... it's incredibly hard. I'm talking about super stardom at an international level.
He could probably do it if he keeps knocking guys out on HBO... but he has no time to do it

That's a boxing problem.
If I go out and ask somebody who Adrien Broner is that wouldn't be fair....because they probably have a warrant for his arrest in the state.
But there are very few boxers random people will now, Manny and floyd. After that, it's a regional thing.
I go outside and ask somebody about Danny or B-Hop in philly... they'll know.
Virginia...not so much.
There are only a few...like one handful, of boxers the general public will know
He's not a huge star, but he is one on HBO and his rise is really quite impressive considering he was not very well known a year and a half ago.
lol, remember this? Hard to believe this was almost 3 years ago
He's at the cusp needing that breakout fight.
And I think that guy threw the fight, lol

I don't think you can call GGG a star quite yet.
And what the heck happened to that guy in your sig? :lol1: it looks like he was evading those shots and then he just falls down.
GGG is a star. Not a mega star like Pac or Floyd, but he's a star. Ratings speak for themselves. He sold out the Theater too... Donaire couldn't even do that

he does better ratings than ward or Sergio Martinez. those guys are the "cash cows' though in fantasy land.

Yeah but Golovkin is a star here, not Murray.
Also, I doubt he'd get paid more for Strum than for GGG's fight.

Sturm has mentioned Murray as a potential opponent.
They had a controversial draw already so its a natural rematch. German TV had Murray winning.
I think the plan was for Murray to get the WBA regular and then "unify" with Sturm = big business

Murray is a coward, plain and simple. How can you defend him? | BoxingScene Community
