Mayweather should retire. We all know Floyd does not want to take punishment nor does he like risks. Every opponent he faces from here on out will be sparring exhibitions. Floyd said boxing is a business which is true but this ultimately means he is not fighting any tough fights for the remainder of his career. Floyd is a great fighter there is no denying that but his reluctance to fight top opponents where he may be the underdog is disheartening. Floyd is a making a lot of money but I will not be buying his PPV bout if he fighting guys like Amir Khan and all he cares about is PPV numbers and not entertaining the fans. Honestly, I would much rather see Floyd hang it out so the next crop of stars can take over the sport. When has Floyd ever poll up a poll on his twitter and say hey fans who do you want to see me fight? He would never do because he might have to face a dangerous opponent.
Mayweather should retire
Nah. Let him fight his remaining exhibition fights. Just find a way to watch them for free. If you're tempted, go to a pub or something. Or gather as many people as you can in your circle and watch it in one house. Be creative. Plan the viewing in advanced. There's also the internet. Haven't tried it, but I'll look for legal streaming where the monthly subscription cost is probably less than seven bucks.
It's not about challenging Floyd, it is about putting him in a match people feel he will lose.
Yep, fighters two divisions above his, it's comical really.
People got manipulated by the hype of those fighters "last fight" but the reality is that they beat very questionable opponents and very very very few opponents to speak of.
Floyd avoided the "riskier" opponents that we really wanted Floyd to fight and took those opponents that you mentioned above that had relatively less chance of winning.
Simple question:
Sergio Martinez or Canelo or Cotto at 154? Which would have been considered riskier for Floyd?
Manny or Guerrero or Ortiz at 147? Which would have been considered riskier for Floyd?
You can say the same though for Martinez. At 160 I think Canelo would be a tougher fight than Cotto. Sergio wants Cotto. Also who knows if Sergio could've made 154...no one does. It'd be a "walking zombie" if Floyd won and Sergio really was sorta overrated anyhow .... theres a whole thread on it. Manny is with TR and turned down the inital negotiations. Other than Top Rank fighters, when he fought Guerrero and Ortiz who was a better option?
As for Floyd being favored yeah...he's going to be favored in almost 100% of his fights unless he fights way out of his weight class. He doesn't even make 154 yet he's going to fight at 160? Sure a challenge but so would Andre Ward at 168...he's simply not that big and it's a challenge with a low pay out, thats unnecessary.
All Floyd fights is top fighters
Canelo-ring champ and unified champ at 154
cotto-#1 154 fighter
Guerrero-top 3 ww
Ortiz-#2 ww

Who are these top fighters Floyd would be an underdog against?
Floyd seems to be scared of the fighters who are underdog against him. Why hasn't he fought Pac at least two times by now?
Garcia, Bradley would be underdog against Floyd, lets see if he fights them. Maybe Floyd can fight Sergio or GGG at 160 and challenge himself.
Floyd should be thinking everyone thinks Garcia, Bradley, Khans of this world are inferior to me, and I wont fight Pac, so I will fight who they think are my equal. Maybe Sergio or GGG.
Floyd should use his inititiative and challenge himself for once.
Pac or retire Floyd, we are taking a stand and any other opponent makes you look like a chump and will only earn you chump change. We own you..........it's about time you realize that.
hey stupid...maybe you didnt read the part where i said...i dont give a fuk about PPV sales. I was just sating a fact for another poster i thought was dumber than you. Guess i was wrong.
You were just stating facts in a post that was two thirds your own opinion?

Did you know.up until the Canelo fight...Manny had out grossed Floyd in PPV sales. He has had more PPV bouts than Floyd of course and Floyd has sold more in any single bout but in gross...Manny sold more.
Yes it is because people want to see him lose. But the majority of viewers are watching and paying for their fighter to win. (the opponent.) You're smoking crack if you think those buys are for Floyd only. Its a stacked under card or the opponent has a huge following. Id say 10% really pay to see Floyds boring ass fighting style. Thats being generous.
truthfully it dont matter anyhow. when its all said in done Floydette will be known as a coward and always remain...The Chickens Champion!
Pacquiao having more ppv fights than Floyd is not something that should be hand-waved to the side, nor should Floyd's fight with Canelo; one overlooks that Floyd is the more efficient draw, the other shows that Floyd has actually grossed more than Pacquiao.
The last part of your post is just ludicrous; 10% pay to see Floyd fight? Then why don't the promoters just put on a show without Mayweather, if only 10% are tuning into see Mayweather they should still do close to 2 million sales without having to pay someone 40+ million.
You really need to check your hatred. On boxingscene it is not exactly an issue, but the personality trait you've displayed will make you a human being that has an inability to learn and develop. You're just too happy to stew in your own ignorance, so long as a creates a world you're happy with.
No way...You see, what you dont know there is a new phenomenon on the rising in boxing. Floyd dont have no tourch...hes barley got a match!
Floyd is the Chickens Champ...Manny is the peoples champ. Manny can come back after a loss and capture a win and he steals the spotlight in Boxing again! Like the late great Gatti...Win or lose...everyone loved to watch him fight.
Manny didnt need to hold on to a 0 just to survive. If you think Broner hit the ground hard after he got his assbeat...Wait to you see what happens to Floyd....ITS OVER! Nobody cares about that coward...hehehe heeeeee :WORD:
LOL no one cares about him yet his PPVs sell more than any other active fighter, including Pac. I know what you're going to say next "It's because peoplee want to see him lose!" But you know what they say right? A hater is your biggest fan.
Floyd has made millions upon millions off ignorant haters like yourself who want to see him fall. But it never happens and you losers will continue to follow him until it happens. So you say no one cares about him yet you post about him WAY more than you post about Pacquiao. LOL how ironic.
He reminds me of the type of person who wants to be a cop (but Cant) so he becomes a security guard. Then buys a crown vic and dresses it up with yellow lights to perp he the real deal. That kinda fella.
You just absolutely nailed it!
Panginoon was in fact upset about something. lol So was bombs... lol
Sweaty, what in gods name are you blathering on about? You're a typical floyd spastic, aint ya. Cant communicate very well, cant seem to string a coherent sentence together and paranoid as fook about pinoys/other posters/anyone who doesnt also have their tongue jammed inside floyds dinner flap. Lol floms.:lol1:
One of my buddies is a Fire Chief. He pulled his badge on someone one night while we were out at the clubs. He tried to use it to get in a club. The doorman was Captain at another fire dept and saw it was a fire badge...lol he caught shlt for that!
Now that's funny.

So Floyd should retire simply because you don't think his fights are interesting or he doesn't take enough risk according to you, wow you must be really important? The boring Mayweather sells 2.2 million PPVs in his last bout and the always exciting Pacquiao that faces a legitimate threat each and every time sells less than 475,000 PPVs, but its Mayweather that should retire? Do you even understand how ridiculous this thread is?

I was deployed with a guy that claimed he was a cop once. He got pissed when I made him a fake WalMart security badge.
The only thing that I can glean from it is that he's very upset about something.
