Here's a comment by a very famous (but unknown on this site) Irish Amateur Champion (6 successive titles) Frankie Kerr, the father of Irish Soccer manager Brian Kerr. Frankie was my trainer, and one day whilst watching a couple sparring he said to me "....Keith makes a good light-heavyweight...light in the head and heavy on the feet..." I thought it was priceless, and actually mentioned it on this site a couple of years ago.

“There is no such thing as a natural puncher. There is a natural aptitude for punching and that is different. Nobody is born the best. You have to practice and train to become the best.”

There has been nothing to compare with the below although strictly speaking it wasn't ABOUT boxing.... Joe Jacobs was a well known manager of Max Schmeling and several other champions. He also had "Two Ton" Tony Galento. There is a famous picture of him when in Germany with Schmeling and they meet Hitler. Jacobs saluted with the hand holding his cigar and later claimed that it didn't count because of the cigar and he had his other hand behind his back with his fingers crossed...... He was also known as "Yussel the Mussel" (muscle, because he was so skinny. Yussel is Yiddish for Joseph)....
Quote..." Legendary sports reporter Shirley Povich (yes, Maury Povich's father) quoted fight promoter Joe Jacobs (the picturesque character who also coined the phrase "we wuz robbed") when he got out of a sickbed to attend the 1935 World Series between the Tigers and the Cubs on a wet, cold and windy October day. When Povich (or some other reporter with Povich) asked him what he thought of baseball, he replied, "I should have stood in bed." Povich wrote that into a column and the phrase immediately became famous".
