why doesnt martinez have to fight golovkin?

hes got a contract with hbo, 1 more fight, and the only fight they will accept is golovkin. Yes they let him fight his number 1 contender on another network because that is his mandatory, but after that its golovkin or retire. He is kinda screwed after this fight with cotto if he comes out on top. Also the Argentina show was a disaster

Cotto is a big fight...generates a lot of money....sergio last fight had 50000 people in attendance....sergio came up the hard way...he was at 147 couldn't get the fights he wanted...was force to take on all tough opponents....he is not even a middleweight and he is comin off a lot of injuries....1 fight left wit hbo after cotto....he don't care about ggg.....he is goin 2 showtime to fight alvarez and mayweather soon....who has ggg fought?...a bunch of bumbs hbo lined up for him so he can look like a star to yahes got a contract with hbo, 1 more fight, and the only fight they will accept is golovkin. I'd love to, but a lot of people are against it. Hbo wont have it... But he did just sign with Lou. Best case scenario Lou can have a 2 for one deal with hbo and golovkin. Fight Sergio early this year and get the other Sergio later this year Golovkin don't want it.... :headbang:

Stevens is a bum, boxrec has him at #21. If he was even remotely close to the top 10 when Golovkin fought him it was because they wanted to save face and someone paid a ranking body off. He can ask Kirkland to move up and fight him....that's what he is going to do anyway, that or fight Vera. I remember reading an article where he was talking about Golovkin but it may have been Golovkin fighting someone else....I know he was saying he would love to face one of the two guys. Apparently Sergio is struggling financially and all his fans (financial advisors) wants him to fight Cotto because he deserves a big money fight since he is broke from making millions. Not 100% sure but it seems like the consensus. The 2nd probability is they dont want Golovkin to KO his ass :rolleyes: (I highly doubt this) He's struggling financially?

The only one I agree with is mora. Would love to see that fight and don't know why they didn't pick him for Monaco. He beat nobody decent mw and his toughest victory over Findlay was hardly worthy of high praise Probably because some of the middleweights that are probably better than Stevens have fallen off the map a bit in the past 12 months. N'Dam and Pirog have been inactive, Andy Lee has been slow to react to the Chavez defeat, Brian Vera has been lead around the weight merry go round by a bloated Chavez jr and Soliman failed a drugs test. Perhaps Stevens still doesn't deserve to be #10 despite this but then a lot of the other contenders have fought little of note also.
