Jim Lampley via HBO has been making it seem like hardcore fans don't like Guillermo Rigondeaux, find him boring and don't want to see him fight. Repeatedly. For those who have seen his most recent broadcasts you'll know what I'm talking about. Based on what I've seen that is a complete LIE. HBO has an agenda to get rid of Rigondeaux and now they're using us to try and help this agenda. Do want to see Rigondeaux fight on TV and will you continue to support his career?
Rigo is boring is what Lampley is trying to say, and it's the truth. People walked out on the main event, i mean what else do you want the promoters to do? they got the people in the Arena, but Rigo couldn't keep them on there seats!!
People want to deny it, What im saying is the truth, so deal with it:bottle:
So passionate about proving Rigo's lack of excitment.
You the guy above you and the Russian dude are probably his biggest supporters. lol

I believe you guys when you say you find him boring. Every thread on Rigo, no matter the subtopic, you've been in there taking people on drilling home the message. Over and over. Thread after thread.
All power to you.
You're taking it a step too far when you try to speak for others obviously.
Look at the older threads, I defended him saying he needs to be marketed differently...the thing is... it's clearly not that. He's not really marketable with his safety first style. I wish him the best but headlining fights is something I can't see him do anymore unless he changes his style to at least be offensive when overmatching... I stand by it.
Where else would you expect to get a feel for what hardcore boxing fans think than on a boxing forum?
He's saying, the networks don't give a sh1t about the couple of dozen subscriptions paid for by the hardcore fans, they might not cover the camera man's salary. Most of them stream anyway. 70% walking out, 200k switching channel before main event, that's what they notice
I think people should have their own opinion based on what they like and not what somebody else is telling them to like or dislike. I'm not a fan of Rigo's style because I find it very boring to watch but my opinion is not based on anybody else's comments. Rigo does seem humble and is probably a likeable little guy outside the ring too so I wish him the best. But as far watching him fight, I wouldn't really mind if I never watched him fight again specially on the two channels that I pay extra money for. But that's just my opinion, everybody is different and everybody has the right to their own opinion.
Maybe it's because the vote is in a boxing forum?

Lampley is a liar and out of his tree. Rigo is elite, and would ruin many "future stars" in boxing out there, and us, the real fans want to see him. The casuals, of course they don't know.
What standing? The "fans" on here would almost never go To a fight of his or pay to see him fight
Just because he has 10 fans on him that really like him doesn't change his standing in peoples eyes
Not really. It's not the exact opposite even a lot of hardcore fans like myself don't really have interest in seeing him fight. It's boring...plain and simple. I admire what he does, think he's highly skilled...that said though I don't care to watch it. Rigo doesn't entertain with his skills...he fights scared for the most part and that's the one thing I dislike. You can lump all the "slick" fighters together but most of them take chances when they severely outclass their opponents...they do something, anything. Rigo doesn't do that. He's happy to play amateur and coast non stop. I don't really have an interest in watching him fight at least in a main event. Throw him as a starter fight on the undercard maybe I'll leave the tv on but don't hinge the entire event on him headlining...it's not pleasant.

It went from 5 to 10 so quickly? lol. It's obvious you're in the 5-10 range.
Clearly you love El Chacal. :usa2:
I don't know about headlining events but what he does with his money is his business. I can see him as a strong opener for big pay per views, and when it comes down to his overall pull I'll concede. He shouldn't be demanding more than he's worth. For Lampley to taunt Rigo is tasteless and unprofessional however. That is something for Bob Arum to work out with his fighter.
Let the man do what he does best. Lampley needs to stop running his mouth. If you don't like him don't watch him as posters have mentioned above. Guy has to support his family and boxing is all he has.
Then he shouldn't be buying a Bentley or whatever with his Donaire purse. And he should try to please the network a little, since they're footing the bill. If the viewers are tuning out, the network is not gonna be happy, and he sits out. Really the way forward is for him to take a smaller, but still good purse, on an undercard. But so far he hasn't been very interested in that.

why your not being objective? You know very well that those fans in AC were there to see tapia not Rigondeaux, and when their idol got broken to pieces they left the arena crying
Also 200k+ people turned the channel after that fight...that says more than the people who left the arena. 200,000 people who were watching the event were like oh Rigo's on? No thanks. You can try to skew it one way or another but the fact remains a lot left the arena, and a lot changed the channel...didn't know Tapia was such a national cash cow.
No. He's not. He's been saying that hardcore fans aren't interested. The truth is exactly the opposite.

His last fight went from ~3000 fans during the Kirkland fight to ~700. 77% of fans at the arena didn't want to see him and they were already there!
Nobody wants to see him, I mean he just the record for worst ratings ever and yet his fans are arguing people wanna see him? It's like khan fans saying he has a good chin, pure delusion
