I cannot believe how Floyd Fans defend his actions ducking Manny Pacquiao.
I sometimes think they are not fans but Floyd himself writing in the boxing scene forum.
Just imagine if it is Pacquiao who is ducking someone, say Broner. Imagine most fans want the fight. That ESPN commentators start calling Pacquiao a chicken. That boxing greats like Hagler, and other pros saying Pacquiao does not want a piece of "the problem." Then Pacquiao says he is not in my level, he lost to Maidana, etc. He is promoted by so and so, his PPV numbers are low, blah, blah, blah.
As a Pacquiao fan, why would I defend him? If it is a fight that most fans want then I would want to see it too. See him prove what he says.
A part of me still want to believe that Floyd will fight Pacquiao. I cannot believe he will retire without addressing the issue in the ring. Maybe his excuses serve a future purpose.
But the fans truly defending him? Think again please.
nobody ever defended someone for ducking an opponent. some ppl (myself included) just feel like mayweather is the one trying to make the fight and its pacquiao (or arum to be exact) thats keeping it from happening.
im not really a fan of floyd either. i mean as a fighter he is brilliant, but outside the ring i cant stand him. he has not reason to duck pacquiao though, its not a hard fight for him at all. not easy, but not hard either.
No Floyd's actions dispute that he doesn't think Pacquiao is still a threat. Answer these questions honestly? Who has better hand speed? Foot work? Power? Those all belong to Pacquiao. Sure Floyd has the better ring IQ, but Pacquiao is a veteran also.
What welterweights can Manny not beat?
And I'm glad you left the Lara comment alone.
Handspeed and power are about the same. (For whatever reason Pacman can't put away anyone anymore). Floyd clearly has better footwork and Why would I say anything about Lara? if I may.
Why buy out a contract from a guy who owes you money?
Oh yea, because that means he would have had to fight Margarito. Oddly enough, Floyd said he was "easy money, easy work" too.
Why not take the easy 8 million, instead of pay out 750,000?
Because Floyd is SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK

Spin away!
HE spent the 750 K to be free and makes much much much more than 8 million. To bad you dont understand that.
And it was you too. You realize he bought out contract right? Of course you do but go on spinning it cause you think it makes you look like you know what your talking about. Go on spinning

Floyd's actions dispute my claim that Pacman hasn't beaten a welterweight in around 4 years?? That right??

If this was floyd's stance since day one many would accept this. Fact is Floyd has came up with about 10 different reasons why he doesnt want to fight Pac.
-Testing
-Moving the goal post on cutoff date
-I dont do business with Arum
-Manny Pacquiao takes the money he makes in the U.S and brings it to his country
-He must rematch Bradley
-He must rematch JMM
-He was outboxed by Erik Morales (in 2005)
-Where was Manny Pacquiao in 96, 97, 98?
-Manny must leave TR and join TMT before I would fight him
-My health comes firsts and wont be forced into a fight the way Ali was
-I want to focus on spending time with my family
-I want to focus on being a promoter
-I'm not thinking about boxing right now
-He only wants to fight me now because he owes the I.R.S (He admits Pac wants to fight him though)
-Etc.......
Lets also not forget about Al Haymon's associate who came flat out and said that this fight will NEVER happen years ago.
End of thread. Floyd the pfp#1 excuse maker when it comes to not fighting Pacquiao
Floyd's actions dispute your claim. But yeah I think Lara beats Floyd too ;)

There are bigger threats out there than Manny Pacman. Why don't you make a tread about someone that actually has a chance to beat Floyd. Not about the guy who was slept 2 fights ago and hadn't beaten a welterweight in close to 4 years please. That is all.

Its not quite as simple as that is it
When there was a chance at the fight happing there was a lot of posturing from both sides, the drug testing issue was the main obstacle as well as the purse percentage etc..
After that it just got comical, Arum uses Floyds name to garner buzz, but deep down never wanted the fight to happen, at least not on Floyds terms. Pac just follows Arums lead, I don't think he really ever put his foot down.
To me the truth is Floyd and Arum basically hate each other and thus their is no reasoning between the two and it's got to a point where relationship is beyond strained.
Pac still has an option to call Floyds bluff and end his ties with Arum in 2014. He can open up talks with Al or Goldenboy, thus we will see what the truth is.
I think also Pac leaving Arum opens up the door with fights with other boxers, its a sad state of affair seeing Pac fight the same guys over and over again, while most of the talent is on the other side.

Yea, they really hate each other. Thats 2011.
Arum burnt all bridges, Pacquiao stuck with rematches until he retires now. Enjoy it Pacquiao fans.
while arum was burning the bridges Floyds balls caught on fire and exploded. hey I would be mad if that happened to me too. Floyd is not ducking!

Thats why they so angry. Now they here trying to spin it.
See, people fail to realize, this is a business. It's not about working harder. You know, my next fight, I'll be 37 years old. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter
Spin what exactly?
Um, just how many bluffs does he have to call?
First it was, "he needs to call Floyd out" check.
Then, "he needs to agree to testing" check.
Then, "he needs to do it in his fights to show he wants the fight for real". check.
its a 5 year bluff. Floyd is a damn good card player.
