We could be looking at another Jeff Lacy situation here... They're not going to go back to the drawing board, or take the negatives out the Maidana loss and work on them to try and make Broner a better fighter. They are 100% in denial and playing the victim, blaming anything and everything for the loss except for Broner just not being good enough on the night. If Broner doesn't drop in weight, and/or goes in with a live opponent next fight, it could be the end for him as a legitimate top level fighter...
this is all i read
you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying? you know what I'm saying?
What he was saying wasn't even that bad except somewhat Implying Marcos might be on peds lol. In the post fight broner said he's gonna go back to the drawing board. How the he do conclude that he's done just from this interview lol wtf
I agree that Broner would've been DQ'd if he had headbutt Maidana. There's a big double standard when it comes to fighters like Broner, Money, Ward etc.
Maidana got away with murder that fight, he was headbutting and lowing blowing the entire fight.
I also agree that Maidana pretty much only had 2 big rounds where he got the first knock down and the second flash knockdown. Every other round he "won" was competative and could've been given to Broner.
Also Arizas fighter have been exposed as being cheaters. Maidana cheating is a real possiblity. He already got exposed for taking a pill in the 11th. (see my signature) PED's aren't out of the question
Ididn't even mention the fact in my earlier post that Broner intentionally hit Maidana after the bell after the 11th going in to the 12th!!!!!
Hilarious interview. Dignity really is an alien concept in that camp.
So is taking any responsability as a mentor apparently...He young doe having fun dats all! he only 24 doe!
Its all everyone elses fault not Adrians!
What is so funny is that the rappers (not exactly the hardest guys despite the bragatto) are not buying it haha. Yeah Adrian got his ass kicked end of story.
As a trainer myself, I understand him defending his kid. At the same time, he has to be responsible for the talking and disrespect that Broner constantly shows his opponents, their trainers, and even the person giving him an interview.
I saw the headbutt over and over, and I can tell you I have been headbutted harder when my daughter was a baby and I would hold her and she would swing her head around wildly. It was a joke of a headbutt, and for him to even try and say that the butt was "devastating" is so pathetic.
Floyd Jr was heabutted hard by Victor Ortiz, and he didn't go down, didn't throw a tantrum like a 2 year old, and he was hit in the mouth, not under the chin.
What hurt Broner was those body shots and left hooks. You could see the right side of his face swollen very badly from those shots. Then he said that's the reason he didn't give the interview? Yet moments later he did an interview after the program ran off the air.
Broner got a dose of humility, and hopefully the kid is more respectful and comes back and realizes he's not going to just walk over everyone he faces.
My main reason for starting this thread, was that the manner of AB's defeat made me suspect it was going to be very difficult for him to come back and be anywhere near the attraction he was going into this fight.. His whole thing was built on ego, being undefeated and talking non-stop smack - all things that are gone to different degrees now.
Now reading this article, it's clear he is also surrounded by clueless yes men. Alot of people made the point that his corner did nothing during the fight, and now they looking for any excuse apart from the fact that AB isn't unbeatable and has a lot to work on - which is what he needs to be told, and then do.
He won't though, and like I said, if he goes in with any top fighter at 140 or 147 next he is going to struggle and even if he wins I think will look average. I expect GBP / Haymon to try and pull out some real slick matchmaking for his next fight...

Sorry but from when you are quoting MediaTakeOut.com (LOL!!!!) as your source, I cannot take you seriously. This is a boxing thread homeboy, save the MTO links for threads about Basketball Wives... No matter how big a cheat someone is, as if they are gonna start slipping pills to a fighter between rounds, there's camera and mics in their faces!!! Even Victor Conte at his height wouldn't of tried tha, shiiiiiiit.

I notice that you left out the fact that Broner was pushing off the entire fight and was warned numerous times in the fight and the refere told him at least 3 times that if he did it agin he was gonna take a point, yet never did .
The same thing that Khan was penalized for in the Peterson fight.
Its amazing what you fail to see when you looked through biased eyes.
Broner got the breaks beat off his A*S and he was looking for an excuse the entire fight and trying to get a DQ where there wasn't one. Like Showtime analysts said the head butt wasn'ta s bad as he made it out and the only reason it happened was because Broner was excessivelly holding after getting hurt and maidana was trying to break free and finish.
Broner fought the dirty fight, hitting when Maidana was between the ropes, pushing off, using his forearms to Maidanas face when trying to push away. Broner got beat down. DEAL WITH IT!!!!! The fight wasn't close.
Stopped reading at" if the shoe would have been on the other foot" because it was and Broner got away with the fking forearm bullsh*t all through the fight after being warned ref didnt do sh*t.
Put yourself in his shoes. His job is on the line and there is a huge risk that Sr. can take his best fighter and primary source of income.
He's been training kids his whole life and finally got his break. Now all of the sudden other trainers are trying to hop in and steal his product?
I think its ****ed up when another trainer tries to steal fighters away. Its unprofessional and disrespectful.
He's finished if his next opponent is another "laundromat worker," as Malignaggi terms it, just to resuscitate his now broken career.
Let's see a few legit fights he can take on that fans would approve of: Guerrero, Ortiz, Berto, Peterson, Khan, Matthysse, Alexander, all of which lost their last fights.
It was interesting to hear another perspective. I would say that the reaction of Floyd senior and Roger was solicited to a degree....However with that being said the Floyd elders might have wagged their tongues more delicately. Keeping in mind that in fight vids when Bronner is over at the gym sparring he behaved like a ****ey ******* instead of learning something. When I think how that might make me feel as a trainer I can almost see the reaction Floyd senior and Roger gave, it could be justified...and the big question would be: would being more supportive of Bronner have been better?
Well, we can see from the rest of the interview that "no"....It would appear that Adrien and his people are into the culture of blaming others. When you grow up in or near the ghetto, go to school in the ghetto, etc you learn one thing quick: when you gain a measure of success you can keep going and humble yourself...because you will take it on the chin...OR you can cry like a b1tch and blame everyone and make it you against the world...This guy is a bad mentor for Bronner.
He may be a kid but he fathered children. He may be a kid but his elders are not teaching him how to act appropriately and respectfully. He may be a kid but instead of making excuses he should be thankful....realistically he has lost many of his fights but for ****ty judging. And even with this judge in his back pocket he couldn't prevail.
People make excuses for this antisocial retrobate. IT DOES HIM NO GOOD!!!
There were a good amount of close rounds that I gave to the champ. People are acting like the fight wasn't close and that it was some horrible beating in Maidana's favor. The truth is it was VERY close and it could've gone either way. I gave it to Broner because the champ should get the benefit IMO. I'm not mad at the people that scored it for Maidana.
The after the bell shot after the 11th round was deserved IMO. It was payback for the headbutt.
No, I don't think the fight could have been scored in Broner's favour. The absolute best he could have got was a draw and I thought that's what he was going to get being the cash cow.
I need video footage of the Hispanic fans spitting on broner for my viewing pleasure
I don't think that happened to be honest. Maybe someone did it from the upper tiers or something.
Broner is a hypejob.
1) Fought smaller guys to pad his record when he should have been fighting in 140 and 147 before.. he couldn't even make weight in one of his earlier fights.
2) In my opinion, he lost vs Ponce de Leon..
3) Had a controversy win against Pauli.., if only Pauli had power with those punches, he would have been exposed earlier.
... Adrien Broner was never an elite fighter. He is a B level fighter at best.
At welterweight. Bradley beats him, the Russian beats him, Rios beats him, Alvarado beats him, Khan beats him, Thurman beats him, Guerrero beats him, Porter beats him, I think Pauli will win in a rematch, Floyd schools him, and Pac murders him..
....he needs to go back down to 135/140 coz his the weakest link at welter weight.

Seriously? MM got away with murder? Since the first KD Broners elbow was in his face despite countless warnings. Too bad the judges didn't agree with you and got it spot on. AB is lucky if he had a more stern ref he would've been penalised or even DQ'd before MM even resorted to responding in similar 'dirty tactics'.
Broner won 3/4 rounds MAX - you can't ignore the constant elbow in the face and pushing...sorry anyone can see that.
I like Broner, but the excuses don't do him any favors. Take it on the chin. You lost against a better, more aggressive and stronger fighter. If he is a true warrior he will bounce back and learn from his mistakes, not look for excuses or reasons, justifying ways out etc.
