Here are some of the top fighters at 140:
Danny Garcia (moving up)
Matthysse
Provodnikov (HBO)
Peterson
Amir Khan (moving up)
Mike Alvarado (HBO)
Brandon Rios (HBO)
Khabib Allakhverdiev (HBO)
Dierry Jean
Viktor Postol
Zab Judah
Selcuk Aydin
Karim Mayfield (HBO)
If Danny Garcia moves up, the belt holders will look something like this:
IBF: Peterson/Jean
WBC: Matthysse/Aydin/Postol
WBA: Khabib
WBO: Ruslan
So really he can go after the Peterson/Jean winner for the IBF or maybe Matthysse for the WBC.
The division is a lot weaker than a year ago. Do you think he can revitalize his career by moving down?
From what I saw of Broner in his fight with Maidana I don't think he could beat the best 140 pounders. Matthysse fights just like Maidana and he would beat Broner. I have not heard that Garcia is going to 147 but I think he would also edge Broner out at 140. If Broner is strong at 140 he might beat Rios, Alvarado or Peterson. The Russian 140 pound champ who's name I forgot how to spell and who KOed Alvarado to win the title would be custom made to knock Broner out.
Man, fuuuuuck Broner so much. He became creepy stalking friends with everyone he could at 140 and 147.
Either they beat his ass or they're "bros". I'd rather he stay at WW and fight Ortiz next. Loser retires. :dunno:
He's not going to be the champ or the Man at 140. And aren't he and Lamont friends? They aren't gonna fight.

I have a feeling that either HBO or Showtime will try to ram him down everyone's throats a bit more.
and why wouldn't they!? ive heard more about this broner loss than any fighters big win in recent memory, broner is being talked about all across the board for getting his ass beat. yea he was hyped like hell but its clear his name rings bells and people want to see him lose more than they want to see anyone win so he will still be all over tv and internet even though he lost! I knew him losing would be a big deal but man this is crazy that people are still talking and posting about it and wondering what his future holds
I think Lamont Peterson is at least as good as Paulie, and he's a terrific infighter. He could definitely beat Broner, hell I'd pick him. Matthysse goes without saying, Broner would get beat up and probably stopped.
Those would be his 2 toughest tests. He has the "big bro" excuse he will use to avoid the Peterson fight though. If that's the case his only path to a title is through Lucas assuming he gets the WBC strap next year. And I'm sure that's not what his team wants to happen any time soon.
When Garcia leaves who beats him? All of the tough fights are on the other network.
Only elite fighter with GBP is Lucas.

I think so, he's still young and can improve. He doesn't have to become an ATG or anything, there is an opportunity here that this humiliating loss puts some stuff into perspective for him, and he can rededicate himself to boxing and eliminate a bunch of his immature antics... that or he never really rises above it and becomes a "whatever happened to...". I hope its the former because I like boxing.
140 is the perfect move. Plenty of winnable fights. Broner vs Matthysse would be fireworks if they can both get back on winning streaks.

He definitely could. Only person that for sure beats him is Lucas but he can still be successful since all the threats moved up.
I dont think he will drop down though

I was never a broner fan, but I enjoyed the fight over the weekend and I look forwards to seeing broner fight again, its the first time I enjoyed a broner fight
nobody really cares about Broner anymore. His show is over.
it may be. he cant mess with the top dogs at 140-147. and he's outgrown or lazy enough to come down to 135.
he can make LOTS of noise at 140...
when he cries about his KOs to garcia, mathysse, provodnikov, khan, rios and the whole crew lmao
its back to 130 with this chump
He could lose to a lot of those guys, and definitely would IMO to the top guys if he doesn't improve drastically on what we've seen throughout his career.
