He was trying to position himself to be the next great. From Roy to Floyd to Broner is how he drew it up. Its obvious thats gone, but is he finished? Is this exposure gonna just destroy his career? Is the fact that everyone knows his mouth is 10x stronger than he actually is going to ruin him?
He will never be a top tier Floyd or Pac type superstar as he was being prepped and hyped to be. He can stil make good money and be entertaining but the hype has ended. I bet Showtime, GBP, Haymon have all moved on into the Thurman business.
It's obviously not over, but at this point there seems to be a very definite limit on what he can achieve. Maidana was a great style match-up for Broner, as good as he's going to get at the top level. Let's face it, that's why Maidana was picked as an opponent in the first place.
Getting beaten up in a fight like that means some serious changes are needed. The post-comments from him and his trainer don't suggest that they fully appreciate this fact.
he's young and talented.
that said if he doesn't grow from this, he is all done.
my money is on adrian broner being on the downside.
people are forgetting the most important aspect of his career: he had all of his success against smaller men.
he's not moving back down in weight. i highly doubt it, anyway. at 147 he's not a big puncher, and his arm length is n't the massive advantage it was at 130 and 135. it's also much easier to swat away and roll shots from smaller guys
broner is not going to be anywhere near the star he thought he'd be.
I don't even like the guy, but he's only 24 yrs.old. He's way younger than some of the immature over 30 yrs. old trolls in this forum. He just needs to fix his mistakes, and change his attitude. I think he needs to move down to the 140 lbs division.
He has no business at 147 just like i dont see khan winning many fights at 147 with the top fighters. Even the top 140lbers would probably beat broner just as bad as maidana did.
Broner has no footwork and cant afford to stay infront of big punchers all night like he did to the little guys. Floyd actually has footwork which is why he takes less punishment if floyd didnt have footwork all his fights would be like floyd vs cotto.
BHop lost his very first fight....Wlad got iced 3 times by the time he was 26....Khan got iced before he became the man in his division....Hearns took a beating from Ray Leonard for first defeat and went on to become a legend....Broner will be alright!!
Is Mares done?!?...was Froch done after Ward left AC with his soul?!?...was Pac done after he was iced by a couple of Joe Blows on his way up?!?...I think dudes are jumping outta the jet without parachutes on this one
IMO AB needed a reality check that he wasn't getting from the cats who love him...so Chino had to check him for not respecting the game...stop that EXTRA sh1t and sharpen up the boxing skills....if he can do that he'll be fine!!
Possability. Your narrative may well be. I am still waiting for someone to make a case why Bronner is so talented though. I finally gave up watching one of my favorite commentators because I found it exxasperating that he still believed Bronner was defensively sound.... I have heard some decent arguments for Bronner offensively and as a solid welter who can travail the different weight classes...to be fair.

I don't think its over, it just wont be what he thought it would be. He will probably still make good money and win some fights but I think he will be avoiding the hard punchers from now on, Maidana hurt him quite a few times and he will not want that to happen again if he plans on getting back on track.
Yes, for a couple reasons. He showed he can't adapt to adversity. He has demonstrated he will never be able to effectively use lateral movement.
The blue print to beat him has been laid out, I doubt that blue print will ever not work.
He is to arrogant, he will never accept that there was a flaw in his skill set that resulted in him losing. He will find something trivial to blame it on.
Hes done as an elite level fighter.
smh over! It's just begun! He gon' learn from this, he da future man im tellin u..
You have many points for such a young account. How did you come about so many in such a short span of time?

Will it ruin him? Maybe. He seems like he might not have the right mindset to get over this.
He should:
1) Heal up.
2) Shut up.
2 b) Use the 'shut up' time to rethink that attitude / persona before you get sack beaten by an angry mob.
3) Figure out if he wants to commit to boxing.
3 b) Commit to boxing
4) Get down a weight division.
5) Take a confidence builder.
6) Start doing next steps and not go back up in weight for a while.
This set him back a year if he handles it right. He's only done if he handles it wrong.
