But he should.
This fight won't sell well but that shouldn't always dictate if a fight should happen or not. Besides Pacman, Imo Lara is the guy that would give floyd a real challenge and have a good chance at winning.
People and some floyd fans complain that he does not sell and he's styles not good, but thats a bogus excuse. Boxing is about fighting the best regardless of styles, I dont care if its going to be a chess match, I wana see who will come up on top.
Floyd is a champion at 154, so NO ONE should come with the weight excuse as well.
Lara is a very good fighter, He went through adversity with angulo but came up on top. He has very good skills, power, speed and is a southpaw.
He is an avoided fighter, Canelo doesn't want anything to do with him coz he's a major risk. Golden boy seems like they don't wana get him any big fights coz he will ruin a lot of plans.
Garcia doesn't wana fight floyd, so people should stop calling for that fight. Thurman still has some maturing to do before he thinks of fighting floyd, he's a good fighter though.
No one at 140-154 besides Pacman and Lara, realistically has a chance against floyd and all of you know that.
For obvious reasons Im not mentioning the pacquiao fight.
I think a lot of people don't want the lara fight coz it's a legit threat. Making excuses why Floyd can't fight him. Floyds a Great fighter that's why I want to see him fight the toughest competition but some of his fans don't seem to want that
Honestly, I think Floyd walks over Lara easy. I don't wanna see that fight. Floyd truthfully has no business fighting anyone at 147 or 154 lbs unless that name is Manny Pacquaio.
The only fight left that I wanna see is Pacquaio. Other than that, he should retire. There is nothing more for him anymore, nothing left to prove.
Just accept that May 3rd 2014 is a throwaway fight. All the welterweight GBP options are trash.
Lara won't happen because there is no money and casuals will call it boring.
Khan it is.
And I suppose tr options aren't.
shut the fuck up, cunt
everyone in the thread gets it except you
this conversation is over, you can go queef elsewhereYou don't speak for anyone but yourself, you stupid insecure son of a b*tch.
Learn how to type in clear coherent sentences before you question someone else's intelligence. Learn what words like "nobody" mean before you use them incorrectly. What you said was untrue despite whatever context you meant it in. Canelo was seen as a legitimate threat by casuals and "diehards" alike. To say that "nobody" gave him a chance inthe fight is a lie. If you had more self esteem you'd just admit to being wrong instead of arguing like a b*tch. You're rather feminine acting.
Not only are you an idiot, you're clueless. You can't discuss the probability of a fight being made without acknowledging the business aspect of the fight, dumbf*ck. The OP clearly doesn't respect the business reasoning for the fight not being made at this point. He says that Mayweather should take this fight despite it not making business sense. Go back and read you stupid motherf*cker.

how is it an excuse when the guy can barely make 150 pounds and is in his 5th weight class? its dumb. You want thim to move up and do things. Then when he does, he gets hated for not cleaning out the division. Its like people complain about him not fighting Sergio at MW. Then if he does and wins, he suddenly will be ripped for not fighting Triple G or any other MW. You cant do that. He is a champion because he's that good. That doesnt mean he has to fight every guy.
The reason why you think Lara could win is because he's a natural 154 pounder. Why dont yout tell me about some 140 or 147 pound guys who can beat Floyd? You dont wanna see any of those matches because he's so good that he cant fight guys his own size. He has to give away a million pounds in his 5th division or be called a ***** if he doesnt. Its a joke. The same people dont demand for anyone at 154 to move up even just one classs but teh guy in his 5th divison who doesnt even come close to making the weight is the scared *****? Tell me how that works
:bottle::bottle::bottle:
Floyd has three fights at 154, winning two titles. Hes a jr middleweight.
you're too stupid to read clearly defined context
a few people have said here we're talking fights, not money
you don't wanna see that since you came in here to bitch
that's what bitches do, they find reasons to bitch
not gonna rehash the points previously elaborated on
you know the score, you're just playing dumb

Doesn't Floyd hold a world title there? So what is the problem? Isn't Lara actually Floyds mando?
Lara is not really any bigger than Floyd and nobody had a problem with Ortiz or Canelo being too big despite both guys being just as big as Lara if not bigger.
Lara is a small 154lber, I am positive he could make 152 the same as Canelo or even 150 absolutely no problem!
Lets face it that is the reason people aren't for this fight is because Lara ain't no flat-footed bum Floyd can potshot to a stinking U.D
Hes a legitimate threat.
Floyd fight a slick, Cuban southpaw counter-puncher that can match him for speed with legitimate power in both hands. Yeah right, that'll be the day.

Yeah I didn't even mention fighting pac coz it's not going to happen. Lara is the best option avail, I just think that if they considering Khan, then they might as well consider Lara too. Khan fight won't sell well coz Khan has lost a lot of momentum, got KO'd not too long ago and looked bad in previous fight.
Obv the size thing needs to be realistic, a division apart. Floyd himself said the weight don't matter ( in his own words). I am being realistic, I hope it happens sometime soon, coz he can't claim he is fighting the best then goes and fights Khan??
I don't think he'll choose Khan or Lara. I think he'll choose Maidana next.
I hear you. But Lara isn't the best fight though. The best fight on paper for him is the Pacquaio fight at 147. Making it happen is a whole other issue though.

Sklls win fights so why not let him fight the Klit bros?
I never said anything about the belt. I always agree that Floyd is the Champ but he gets the normal time limit that everyone else does. If he doesnt want to defend it then strip him. I dont have any problem with that. I dont think Floyd does either. Lets be real, he's far bigger than the belt. He can get every single one of his belts stripped but it doesnt matter because if he wants to fight for one of them in his next fight, no one is going to turn him down because they want that money.
Im a huge Lara fan and its my #1 fight also but I can understand if Floyd doesnt take that fight. I think fans need to be realistic and say "if he takes it then great but he doesnt have to or he's not a coward if he doesnt". The only fight he rally has to take is Pac. There is no excuse from either guy not to make that fight happen. Ofcourse there are excuses and some may be legit but it should still get done. 154 guys though? He doesnt have to fight any of them. Its just icing on the cake

I'm not crying about anything. "Nobody" means "nobody", not "only diehards". Stop being a sucker.
Lara is being hyped by certain posters as being someone that Floyd is afraid of. There are posters in this very thread who are doing that. No need to lie. This isn't a thread discussing the hypothetical matchup with Lara. This is a thread saying that Floyd should fight Lara despite the fact that it doesn't make business sense at this point. You're full of sh*t.

PPV caters to casual fans
those dumbasses thought Alvarez had a chance, but that's all
casuals don't analyze style matches, they buy for the names
why are Floyd fans against good fights?
you motherfuckers have been doing this shit for YEARS
im a Floyd fan and Id love to see lara Floyd! I might actually put some big money up on lara he has the tools to win forget about how boring it is or isn't, people wanna see Floyd lose it might have to be boring for it to happen sorry folks
"nobody" clearly referred to diehards, don't be dense
you're nitpicking to have something to cry about
and Lara isn't being hyped now, he's being mentioned as a foe
nobody has put him on a pedestal of invoking fear from anybody
plenty have called for him to rematch Molina
plenty have referenced he had it rough with Angulo
real fans just don't like the Khan fight that's brewing right now
for that reason, they're looking around for the best foe out there
that foe happens to be Lara, at a weight Floyd's won 3 belts in
everybody knows Floyd-Lara is never gonna happen for business reasons
that's understandable, but real fans don't wean themselves on that shit
we're talking about good hypothetical fights, we aren't getting paid
the Floyd brigade goes apeshit anytime this happens thoughI'm not crying about anything. "Nobody" means "nobody", not "only diehards". Stop being a sucker.

Thing I don't understand with some of you boxing fans is that you don't want to see the best vs the best?? Who cares about PPV sales, who cares about who brings the most money etc.... We don't get any of the money that they make so why the hell do people make it such a big issue. All I want to see is the best vs the best, I don't care if the opponent is not PPv material.
You are asking people to hope for things blindly though. But those who are not blind see the problems a mile away and therefore make their thoughts considering those things. And that's not a bad idea. Everyone wants the Mayweather vs. Pacquaio fight, but to dream about it day and night like it will really happen after all this time -- I don't think that's wise.
Floyd is a champion at 154.... that means if he doesn't want to fight the toughest competition at the weight class that he is champion at, then he should DROP THE BELT AND MOVE DOWN, He should not claim he is the best if he can't face the best. Nobody is demanding fighters at 154 to move up because they ARE NOT CHAMPIONS AT THE HIGHER WEIGHTS ALREADY.
Floyd has fought at 154 twice in recent memory and isn't he the one who says skills wins fights not weight??
