so the the heavyweight division can get a false sense of being more "competitive" but yet being more sh*tty with belts passing around back and forth.....
i havent come across anyone who wrote or said the want wlad to retire. perhaps you are confusing him with his brother vitali.
i think most ppl who wish he retires are fans of his, worried he will lose soon due to his advanced age or possibly by being distracted by his political aspirations. other ppl might just feel he isnt fighting enough and wish he would either get more active or retire altogether, i agree with that to a certain degree at least as long as he is holding a title.
so now Povetkin fight become every fight? lol
when did Wlad hug Wach, for example?
Povetkin initiated all the clinches himself. He did same thing against Huck. Just jumped under his armpit.
well to be fair, wlad DID do an awful lot of hugging versus povetkin, even as a wlad fan I must admit that. I didn't like that performance at all.
but against wach and haye, wlad did just fine.
We'll get less skilled hugging, what a disaster.
TBH, it actually would be even worse...take a look at Leapai v Boytsov, I tried to watch that fight on youtube and I just couldn't...had to keep skipping forward...and you can just imagine if that type of find would be for belts if K2 were gone. OK, I am not saying Wlad's clinch tactics (when he initiates them purposefully) are right or good to watch, but at least he uses it meaningfully and not in such a sloppy way like the snail paced, gassed-state inducing clinches of less athletic boxers.
Because hugging/leaning your way through every fight isn't "boxing".

The compromise would be highly inferior skill on show, for arguably greater excitement of seeing slugging matches and belts being passed around every few months? Personally, I don't think it would be good for the HW division at all as it is pretty likely a lot of contenders and maybe even champs will probably be out of shape, or at least not fully dedicated athletes that are just on top due to single tricks such as power or size... IMO that would denigrate and disrespect the division and sport a lot worse than it is at the moment...

So some other guy can realize "I can handle ALL these dudes" and light a fire within himself so HE can be the entertaining champ(hopefully).
I am afraid that it will not be "some other guy", but "some other guys" - so in the end we will have 5 ABC "champs" again, loosing and regaining their titles every 3 months. I am not sure that will be good for the division.

lol the division will get worse once wlad leaves...............
