Before the Canelo fight there were several threads saying he was afraid of canelo, would duck him or was forced to fight him...then when he toyed and dominated him all the sudden it was a cherry pick??? after that crap why the fvck should he care how anyone feels????
I dont think people care anymore, Floyd went on vacation when the division was getting heated, and came back when it was cold. And on top of that, wouldn't fight the small Pacquiao without a drugtest, while fighters smaller than Floyd have fought him regardless, even Beadley.

He fought him alright, @ a Catchweight. Theres always an angle with this guy. If you go on to say that the weight doesn't matter, why doesn't Floyd fight GGG, after all he would beat him regardless of weight, right?
I was never a fan of the fight. I just understood why they wanted it.
We just all need to be honest though. The GBP side of the welterweight division is full of B and C level fighters since Floyd came back from retirement. Look at some of these title holders over the past few years:
Randall Bailey
Senchenko
Malignaggi
Alexander (who I'm a fan of but lets be real)
Andre Berto
Jan Zaveck
Welterweight is deep, but only because so many of these guys can beat each other. Just talking general ability, it's not so good.
Sucks that Bradley and Provodnikov are Top Rank. Both could probably beat everyone, or almost everyone, in the GB stable. Bradley in particular needs to get away from Top Rank as soon as possible.
We just want to witness a fight that's worth $70. A fight that the fans wanted to see... is that too much to ask?
The fans wanted to see Floyd vs. Canelo as indicated by 2.2 million ppvs sold and breaking gate records.

Don't forget they had Mosley when he was #1. But their JWW and JMW roster has been very deep.
Coincidentally, that's the last time I considered whether Khan would give Mayweather a good fight. If he had beaten PEDerson soundly, we would have seen this fight a long time ago and it would have been wanted.

I think GBP, Floyd's team and Show give him a list and show him the numbers. He looks at it and approves. I also think the opponents are known months and even years in advance. Guerrero and Canelos names were tossed around a year or two earlier.
They've wanted this Khan fight back since he fought Peterson
Yeah, I agree. Khan just hasn't been able to win when he needs to.
Why do you care so much about him?
I'll never, ever understand how Floyd inadvertently controls this forum.
He's an excellent entertainer and does posses atg technical skills. But, Floyd has said numerous times that once you get to the top or reach a certain point it's a business and his business is about making money. If all Floyd cares about is low risk and high reward, the question really is why should we buy into and care who he fights next?

floyd's already on record saying he doesn't care about what fans say.
a lot of fans like me doesn't care what he does as well...we just want to piss off his online girlfriends like you.

You think part of floyd's deal may require that he take at least one fight where GBP/Showtime gets to choose the opponent?

One thing I like about Floyd is that he dictates to the fans and the networks. "This is how I fight. I'm going to win. And its going to be on my terms. I will gey paid. And you can't do **** about it."
But with Khan he has taken that attitude too far.

A Laker AND Cowboy fan from New Jersey?
Yes! Been that way a LOOOOOOOOONG time!

I get you, sort of. A Mayweather-Kahn fight could be slightly interesting. Kahn has good speed & pop, so he might challenge Mayweather a bit, as long as he doesn't get careless. While Mayweather isn't necessarily a KO artist, he has pop too. Of course, he has crazy ring generalship. I'm curious to see if Floyd can KO the glass-jawed Kahn. We all know that Kahn beating Mayweather is a long-shot. Which brings us back to the enduring question; Why should we shell out dollars to see what will likely amount to a one-sided fight?
As a boxing fan, this isn't a great matchup on paper, especially given each fighters last fight. As such there is no way to justify it. We all know if it happens that its either floyd picking the biggest money fight out of a bunch of huge underdogs or its GBP and/or showtime mandating it aspart of his deal.
As for spending money on it-its your choice. As much as I hate the fight, I will likely pay for it because I am a floyd fan. Same way I would watch Lakers v Bobcats if Thunder v Heat was on at the same time, or watch th cowboy v Jaguars if Broncos v Seahawks was on. If you don't I'm absolutely fine with that.
If you're not happy with it don't buy it. Same as I did with manny v rios.
how about WHY do we really care who he decides to fight? its not like he comes to fight, he come to outpoint you and thus makes a boring fight. and to top it all of you have to be in your lowest point in carreer for him to be interested in you. In all my years as a fan ive never seen a technical defensive fighter get paid or praised.
why do floyd fans have to justify it? Most of us prefer he fight someone else. If he fights khan, many of us will support it same way we do all of his fights because we are fans.
Thats the same thing you and other manny fans did with the rios fight, the diaz fight. JMM 4, etc.

Hey, without the fans shelling out cash to see Floyd fight over the years, where would he be? We want to see him in competitive fights. The truth is, we wanted to see him fight Pacquiao years ago. Never mind why it hasn't happened yet, but since we couldn't get it, Canelo was this hot badass that is supposed to be the next great Mexican fighter. Many knew that he wasn't ready for Floyd, but he was really about the best fight for him. Mad props to Mayweather's skill set and his ability to dismantle opponents.
Despite his 2 recent losses, Pacquiao is one of the best talents in boxing, and remains the most-wanted opponent for Floyd in fan's minds. If Mayweather wants his legacy to be complete, he MUST fight Pacquiao! If he fought every other fighter out there and beat them, yet never fought Pacquiao, there would STILL always be that question of what if? One would think that even Floyd would have that question himself. This could easily be at least a two-fight, multi-million dollar series that rivals or even eclipses the Ali-Frazier trilogy. That's why, Floyd.
