Thurman is one of the best welterweights in the world but Mayweather is the best welterweight in the world. I wish Mayweather was fighting Thurman in May 2014 but he is fighting Khan so I hope he beats Khan so badly that Khan will retire.
This is a great discussion with many insightful thoughts on this particular fight...One of the main reasons I like this fight, is that at the end of the day this sport that we love called BOXING at this level it's called PRIZE FIGHTING,Keith Thurman wants that prize!!! You need to be able to sell a pay per view fight,so far One Time has been on TV a few or more times, obviously the dude is a threat he's marketing his boxing skills by talking smack post fight interviews and actually beating who's he is suppose to beat in fashion as expected from A Merchant type view. So let me beg the question who outside of Broner is trying to sell their boxing skills...marketability wise?
I'd say there are a few fighters doing that,Bradley Garcia Broner are the ones who have done it at a high level..Thurman is doing it,and I can't lie marketing himself well..He has to continue to do this tho, this fight against Karass will be huge for his career if he can win impressively..Thurman has star potential no doubt about it..

How many big fighters did thurman beat??
How he deserve mayweather fight?
How many people come to watch his fight?
He beat a guy that would tear Broner out the frame. He beat a guy that was on his way to stopping Berto, if the fight wasn't stopped on cuts. He beat a guy that beat Paul Williams.
Your second question means nothing. Floyd ain't fighting this guy.
Your 3rd question is irrelivant because Floyd ain't fighting this guy. Who the F was Guerrero before he fought Floyd? A Mexican dude?
How about Floyd give some brothers a chance?
Not that this question has anything to do with whether or not Thurman is a viable opponent...but I would choose Sergio Martinez.
It does tho,Martinez is not a WW,Thurman is as good of WW opponent that's available..So unless Mayweather fights at JMW,then I'd agree with Martinez or Lara being the better opponent..As it stands tho we don't even know where his next fight is taking place..Thurman at WW tho,is as good a selection as you can find..
I dont know...are you? We are all giving our personal take on the subject.
Not me. I'm here to debate with my boxingscene fam. Winning some, losing some.:boxing:
So who would you like Floyd to fight..Realistically..

But all Khan has to do is get destroyed and beat a pillow fisted lightweight and then almost get stopped by another shot lightweight and he's automatically considered??
Khan #1 contender..

When did I condone Khan as an opponent? He isnt. Poop is poop. Get it?
Hard poop is easier to clean up than liquid poop...but its still poop.
Keith "I-havent-even-fought-a-B-fighter-1-time" Thurman needs more rounds before he can be considered to fight the #1 fighter.
yeah this is true lets recall how beastly canelo looked fighting c fighters everyone thought he was unstoppable. now look what happened. thurman has been fighting bums. i remember even him calling out paulie. i think that's a 50/50 fight

Like who??Maidana,Broner??Stop already,Thurman is just as good an opponent as Maidana Broner Karass etc etc..You have to understand, the main guy's that would be acceptable at WW are fighting with TR..So anyone from the GBP stable at WW is a step back in a sense..At least Thurman has shown promise,I'd accept it should it get made..
Let me ask you, this or Khan which fight would you rather..

Without a doubt. No catchweight needed, monster young puncher, prime or entering it. I'd luv this fight tbh. Most satisfying choice outside of Lara, imo. No promotional gap, nothing.
I totally agree..
How about he beats some top guys before he is even in the Discussion
