So gift decisions make you a better fighter? Cmon now.
It wasnt a give,, super close, but not a gift,, could have gone either way,,
unlike donaire who barely won 2 rounds,
plus if your going to say oscar got a gift vs pernel,, then you gotta say he beat tito and shane in the rematch
Do you think honestly donaire is better than oscar????? just think about it
over 24 title defenses in his career and you don't think he should be in the hall of fame? Why, because he fights in Argentina?
Yeah pretty much, name his top level wins,,,
It is very easy to grab a title and hold it for ransom for years,,
look at sven ottke, chris john, etc....
title defenses much like knockout streaks can be easily manipulated, especially in this age of 4 major belts, plus super champs and interm champs etc...
Who are his best wins?????
Floyd is a level above Donaire, I'd say hes about equal with Oscar though.
Oscar is way better than donaire,,, both beat up smaller guys coming up,
oscar beat up molina, leija, genaro,
donaire beat up navreaz, montiel, vic
but oscar also beat pernell
donaire got totally undressed by rigo
donaire is now struggling with old vic
oscar was throwing down with prime ike, tito, shane, vargas, hopkin, floyd, manny, and only really got blown out vs hopkins and manny,,
donaire is nowhere near oscar,, dont get caught up with him looking like a million bucks vs montiel, arce,,,, The dude struggles badly vs a top level guy,,, Oscar never got dismantled like donaire did vs rigo,, and pernell, shane, tito, ike, vargas, hopkins, floyd can undress some fools
Oscar was a great fighter and has the toughest resume of anyone in recent times,,
Nobody goes thru oscar's resume undefeated
He shouldnt be, but your probably right, they put in anyone nowadays. And to be honest, i dont think genaro should be a HOFer either,, i think he was a really good fighter, a great fighter in his day, but nowhere near an ATG or HOF, but i do think he was better than narvaez
Rigo would probably pick corrales apart, but its no guarantee, Corrales was very competitive vs casamoyer
I think your missing the point,, we were comparing donaire to corrales, and corrales has way better wins vs casamoyer, freitas, garcia, castillo, all prime and all title fights,,
Donaire got undressed the first time he was on that level, and his only top level win was vs vic the first time..
Nobody is trying to claim that corrales would beat rigo, we were talking about donaire's resume vs corrales' resume,, and corrales has clearly the better resume, with wins over casamoyer, castillo, garcia , frietas,,, all in their prime

This....
Reminds me of Skip Bayless asking Stephen A. Smith "...where is the Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, the George Foreman?" and Smith sits up confidently and replies "Diego Corrales"....I almost died.
Does any one really think that a 122 lb Corrales wouldnt get blasted by Rigo?

Look at his resume again,,, there are some good wins for the guy, and floyd and oscar are levels above donaire
Genaro's overall career is much better than navreaz
Floyd is a level above Donaire, I'd say hes about equal with Oscar though.
Donaire was a superior fighter and had a superior resume than Corrales had. There is no legitimate argument that can be made otherwise.

Oscar didnt dethrone him at 130, it was 135, nobody had beaten the guy at 130 til floyd did it,, and genaro is a better fighter than your giving credit to. Yes he may have been at the end of the road, but he was still the champ and unbeaten at 130 and it was a great win for floyd being he was less than 2 years deep in the pro game,,
Much better win than Rigo beating Ramos for his first belt,,
And genero is a HOFer, so im not the only one that thinks he was a good fighter
Narvaez will also be in the HOF, whats your point?
Congrats, you just described hernandez, and he lost both times he was in the ring with anyone with a pulse as well.
Look at his resume again,,, there are some good wins for the guy, and floyd and oscar are levels above donaire
Genaro's overall career is much better than navreaz
Actually wouldn't that be OSCAR that was the man to dethrone Hernandez?
Hernandez was an easy coming up title defense opponent for oscar. No idea how you are trying to spin a paper titlist with a couple meaningless defenses against limited opposition into a great fighter.
Lets not pretend he was anything other than a hand pick title for Floyd by Bob Arum.

We will have to disagree about that,, Narvaez has never been in the ring with elite caliber fighters at the pro level except for donaire,, I dont care about how many title defenses he has,
What are his top wins???????
Congrats, you just described hernandez, and he lost both times he was in the ring with anyone with a pulse as well.
Not trying to say one guy is better than another,,just pointing out the fact that floyd has a ton of high caliber wins, genero being one of them, while Rigo has 1 big win over donaire
Genero was a good fighter, and i think alot are trying to rewrite history,, if he was so bad, then how come he only lost to the absolute best guys around in floyd and oscar
It would be like saying hatton's win over kosta tsyzu means nothing, kosta was old and never fought again,,,
To be the man you got to beat the man, and floyd was the guy to dethrone genaro,, plain and simple
It would be like if donaire never scores another big win in boxing and quits, it doesnt mean that Rigo's win over him is any less impressive

Nobody is claiming Narvaez (try to spell his name correctly) is one of Donaire's great wins, but on that note Narvaez is a MUCH greaters fighter than Hernandez.
15 defenses at flyweight
8 defenses at super-flyweight, and still going.
Throw in Bronze and Silver medals at the World Amateur Championships, and it really not disputable that Narvaez is much more skilled, and much more accomplished.
We will have to disagree about that,, Narvaez has never been in the ring with elite caliber fighters at the pro level except for donaire,, I dont care about how many title defenses he has,

The Vic and Montiel wins are better than any of Corrales wins especially when you consider how he won them. His wins vs Nishioka Mthalane and Navarez are are as good or better than Garcia and Manfredy(the fights that made Corrales top 10 P4P leading up the the Floyd fight)
As for Roy I don't have the patience to even address this completely(You probable think Genaro is better than guys like Gonzalez and Castro LMAO) but who gives a crap about big PPV event that has nothing to do with the caliber of a fighter's resume.
Vic was a great win, no doubt wont argue that,, but montiel, nishioka, mthalane, navarev are not in the same league as beating a prime casamoyer, freitas, and castillo
I dont know how you can argue that,, Freitas, casamoyer, castillo were prime and absolutely better fighters than nishioka, mthalana, navarez, montiel,,, Donaire beat up on smaller guys, corrales beat up on everyone at 130 and 135 except for floyd
And if you think beating gonzalez and castro are great wins,, lmao,, they are decent wins no doubt, good fighters, but not exactly p4p, or hall of fame material, and nowhere near the level of fighters of liles, nunn, benn, eubanks, watson, G-man, collins, michlewski
But then again, you thought tony bellew was future p4p material,,, that is the funniest **** i have ever heard and shows your ability to gauge fighters,,,
Corrales hasnt beaten anyone,, and bellew is p4p ok,, gotcha
Really,, Genaro was a champ,, had only lost to oscar at 135, but at 130 had never been defeated and made the HOF, but beating him means nothing, but donaire beating up on naverez, mathebula and the japanese guy is so much better
Nobody is claiming Narvaez (try to spell his name correctly) is one of Donaire's great wins, but on that note Narvaez is a MUCH greaters fighter than Hernandez.

corrales had a bunch of great wins,, garcia, casamoyer, castillo are better than any of donaire's wins for the exception of the first vic darchiyan fight
Can you please name all of Donaire's great wins:
And while your at it, you can add all of roy jones great wins between toney and ruiz, since you dodged it in the history section and act like i dont know what im talking about,, still waiting to hear all the ppv events that roy headlines like floyd has
The Vic and Montiel wins are better than any of Corrales wins especially when you consider how he won them. His wins vs Nishioka Mthalane and Navarez are are as good or better than Garcia and Manfredy(the fights that made Corrales top 10 P4P leading up the the Floyd fight)

Yes, with great wins like:
Jorge Paez
Jorge Ramirez
Harold Warren
Raul Perez
Yuji Watanabe
Masuaki Takeda
The dude split with an Azumah Nelson that was a shell of himself.
Seriously, I would love to see you explain why Genero Hernandez is better than Nonito Donaire.
Please explain to me how his resume is better, what aspects of his skill set were better, how his intangibles made him clearly superior.
I'll wait.
Not trying to say one guy is better than another,,just pointing out the fact that floyd has a ton of high caliber wins, genero being one of them, while Rigo has 1 big win over donaire

Not at all, Donaire had a solid resume and beat some good guy but that doesn't make him better than Chico who did a bunch of solid work. Fighters make the resume, resumes don't make the fighters
I certainly don't find him any better as a fighter from watching them fight, Donaire and Chico are both very good but flawed fighters who did a bunch of solid work. They are very similar to me, making one out to be vastly superior is to me something you can't make a case for~
lol the fact that you even included Genaro tells me how little you know about boxing.
Really,, Genaro was a champ,, had only lost to oscar at 135, but at 130 had never been defeated and made the HOF, but beating him means nothing, but donaire beating up on naverez, mathebula and the japanese guy is so much better
