Furn posted this in another thread and it's relevant here so I'll repost. 2.12 Division of Proceeds in a Purse Offer. The net purse offer (after deduction of the WBC certification fees) shall be divided as follows: a) 70% for the champion and 30% for the challenger. b) 50% to each contender in the case of vacant titles or elimination bouts. c) 55% to the champion and 45% to the interim champion, in the event of such a bout. d) Notwithstanding the terms of subparagraphs a), b) and c) above, the Board of Governors may, in its discretion and by a majority vote, modify the division of purse offer proceeds between boxers in a purse offer in unusual or special cases, like the consideration of the outstanding marketing value of one of the boxers. The modification of the split will be limited to three categories: 70-30%; 60-40%; and 55-45% for the Champion and challenger, respectively, except in the most exceptional circumstances, in which the split may be modified to 50-50%.

I think that the WBC mando will go to purse bid with Top Rank and Golden Boy bidding an absurd amount of money (i.e like 40 million or so). Whoever wins will gain complete control of the promotion and that what each outfits wants. Whichever outfit wins the bid, expect the losing side of th bid (i.e promoter, fighter) to either drop the belt or forgo the mandatory. Reason - Neither party want to give up control. The problem - if the losing side withdraws, they will be killed in the court of public opinion. Floyd is being killed in the court of public opinion. He's cornered now. All his excuses are magnified. Health comes first, money, contender. These all points to Pac. He's going to fight Amir Khan first and if Lara gets the Canelo fight and wins then WBA will make a mandatory for Floyd vs. Lara, and I think Floyd would take the fight. After that 2014 is up and Manny can be named WBC mandatory and Manny will most likely have to sign a co-promotion deal with Golden Boy to get that fight. If Floyd gets past Manny at that point, he can look at fighting Miguel Cotto for a 2nd time (if he wins the WBC 160lbs Championship) and then can sit on who he wants to fight for his 50th and last fight. Believe me, I think Floyd wants to go out at 50-0 and the bidding war for that last fight of his would be insane that I think ESPN PPV would even look at taking a bid for it. Theres no way in hell floyd would fight Pacquiao or Lara I don't even think he should fight Khan. Theres no reason to fight him and no one would buy it. Porter, Garcia, winner of Broner-Maidana, Malinaggi, Pablo Cano, Kell Brook, all deserve the fight over Khan

Titles & rankings mean nothing when discussing earning powers for Floyd and Manny! They don't need titles hell everyone fights championship rounds these days so they can fight for the World Championship of "Maple Street"! wbc, wba, wbo, ibf, fuc, lol its so silly to think of Titlists in todays boxing picture as champions, come on.
