Dont feed me this coming off of a lose or overseas crap..you sell according to your name so your name holds value..both of their foes had 0 fan base but there is a huge difference in sells.........why??
Since when does the A side take a counter offer? Imagine if I argued that Manny had to take a counter offer from tim or JMM? Come man, stop the BS. Had manny not refused 50/50, there would be no need for a counter offer.
Manny deserves a share-we agree. He turned down 50/50. Is manny giving JMM or tim more after they turned down the first deal? NO, so stop asking me why floyd should do it for manny. Manny is in this position because of his own poor decision making. He should've taken half when he had it. You seem to think manny can refuse and not have it be held against him. Sorry dude, he isn't special.
There is 2 ways to look at it-Manny is a big draw and deserves a big percentage of the ppv because without him there is no mega fight. If yu feel that way, cool.
I see it the other way- $40 mil is 42% more than he ever made with the bulk of the ppv and even with the penalties he would pay to TR his take home would be slightly more than he got for Rios and JMM.
The reason I don't feel bad if manny doesn't get any ppv-he turned down the fight twice. If you were objective you'd acknowledge this. Instead, you want to blame the guy who made the offers.
We are talking about nearly 2 years ago right? Manny and Floyd were both doing PPV numbers way above anyone else. On a yearly basis, Manny did better and on a per fight basis, Floyd did just a bit better but that doesn't tabulate to Floyd getting the pot of gold and Manny getting no PPV money. Only in Floyd and his fans imagination.
When there were rumors, even Floyd fans couldn't believe that Floyd was asking for more, let alone ALL PPV MONEY. All I heard was "Let's wait until FLoyd says it himself". Then when Floyd actually admitted it, Floyd fans were in shock for a good week but as expected the parrot in you all came out and started mimicking Floyd and actually believing that Floyd deserved ALL PPV money. That is insane!
Yes, things change but it could have been Floyd that lost .... ooops, I forgot that Floyd can't lose against who he cherry picks for his easy mandatory fights against opponents like Guerrero but as witnessed by seeing Team Floyd's recent interviews, not willing to fight against the mandatory fighter named Manny.
Yeah, CBS/SHowtime have a hard time raising enough for floyd's gurantee. Dude, SHowtime's boxing budget, including floyd's gurantee's, are made during one episode of Big Bang Theory. Between tv shows, ncaa, nfl, 60 minutes I'm sure there is 100 times more money than is needed for floyd's guarantee's.
No matter where it comes from, they still have to recover it by selling PPV units. You can do the math again and calculate the number of units they'll have to sell to recover it. It's around 550K. They'll break even at that number, assuming everything is free from the lowly camera man's paycheck filming Access and fighters to the secretary and Showtime execs.
It's not rocket science. Don't really know why people are so laser-focused on PPV sales without looking at the whole picture. You spend big, you have to make big to make a profit. I keep hearing Showtime losing money, but I don't hear the same thing on HBO.

Hmmm .. Undercards? Geographical location? Particular days?
Al Haymon is a genius; don't kid yourself.

Lol, really?
It's simple math, really. If you make less than you spend, then it's a flop. The reverse is not. People are too much focused on PPV numbers without considering the whole picture. Floyd's fights are expensive. Showtime has to raise $40 million for his guarantee. Then there's the expensive undercards, not to mention marketing expenses, etc.

There not boxing fans they are fan boys that's why.
I find it bizarre when a certain fanboy of a fighter calls another set of fans, fanboys, you're one of the worst fanboys on this entire forum.
pac-rios went up against college football games something floyd wouldn't dare do, and there's a reason floyd is alawys fighting on a mexican holiday, use your heads

Why do you cry so much about ppv numbers? You're supposedly a boxing fan but you just come across as some greasy fanboy mincer every time you post.
And learn to spell you thick twat...'exceptable'
I have never in my life said or heard anyone say "What a great fight! Did you see how many PPV buys it had?" No fight fan predicates his enjoyment of fight on the number of PPV buys. This is complete and utter nonsense. People would call a Floyd fight a flop on 700,000 buys because he is always running his flan hole about how many PPV he sells. Nobody cares. A lot of people spend the money in hopes of seeing someone shut his arrogant yapper.
Hey Big joker Dunn, there was a counter offer by Arum to take $45 million but Floyd refused. Why? I'm sure that would have been Floyd's highest amount paid until that point. Right?
If you were more objective, you would know why Manny refused. That fight would generate much more than any of their previous fights and the reason is because they are fighting each other NOT someone else. So they BOTH deserve a piece of that. Only Floyd fans think otherwise.
Floyd could have gotten more (slightly better split). Even Manny was game about that but NOT giving Floyd ALL PPV MONEY ..... BUT That was Floyd's offer!!!!!

Manny refused the fight in 09 over ped testing that both fighters would be taking. He refused the $40 mil offer because there was no ppv, yet his take home money would be higher than any amount he ever made.
I know you guys like Manny but its time to be adults and hold another adult accountable for his actions. Maybe if you all do this manny will finally accept an offer to fight floyd.
Manny has all these world wide fans yet he continues to fight in Vegas. when he fghts outside the US his worldwide fanbase doesn't support the fight as manny's fans suggest they will.
Come guys, its ok. Manny was once very close to floyd. Floyd simply stretched the gap. Manny better be careful before Chavez Jr. and/or Canelo replace him as #2.

Thanks homey,
One thing this floydiots are ****ing dickhead, they are talking about ppv revenues yet they all want to avoid the biggest ppv revenue there is, floyd-pac fight should have shattered revenues in history of the sport.
Lol, floyds fans are such POS

Why is 700k-800k a flop for Floyd..but 350k-500k for Manny is exceptable? | BoxingScene Community
