According to this spanish ESPN article, Canelo is giving Cotto one more week to decide if he's going to take the fight otherwise he's going to fight Carlos Molina or Trout-Lara winner . Another reason for the Cotto/Canelo fight not to happen. You guys need to use common sense. Martinez is hurt and won't be back until mid-to-late summer. Why would Cotto wait for him? He took the $10 million to fight Canelo in March. I said it before and I'm saying it now. This is already a done deal. Why wait till mid-summer and make less money? He has the most amount of money he's ever made right in front of him. Cotto isn't an idiot. Jesus. It's not just about the money, fighting Martinez would be an opportunity for Cotto to improve his legacy and he'll make a lot of money too. I have to say that Mar 8th is too soon for Cotto. That's only 3 months and I dont think that Miguel will be training too hard in Dec, given the way Christmas is celebrated by the Puertorican people. We like to party and eat hard during the holidays! lol! Plus, not enough time for the promo, etc. I think that April will be a better date and when El Angel finishes Canelo, it will be enough time for promo and training with a Floyd rematch!

cotto has a 0% chance of winning ... the score cards .... This hands down. Floyd won every round and managed a draw and losing 2 and 3 rounds against Canelo. I think what's holding up the announcement of the fight right now is the date. Cotto likes to have long training camps(3-4 months) to get in shape and his adviser has stated the same thing for promotional tour purposes. There is no way Cotto will take the fight for March 8 when he probably doesn't want to start doing any type of training till January.
