Cherry-picking opponents...Good or bad?

Cherry picking is when you have 10 people who you should have fought but you ducked away because they are handpicked. again, there are certain variables on both fighters that have blocked this fight from happening. Yet, when you look at who x is facing. how many times have you been disappointed? names to face floyd not named Pac? alexander, khan, cotto, and martinez since he's on a decline. sorry but none of these fights interest me too much.

Wonder what excuse Mayweather will come up with to duck Soto Karass after he's finished caving Thurman's ribs in.

Cherrypicking isn't fighting top 2-3 fighters in your weight class. If that was the case Carlos Monzon was the biggest cherrypicker of all time.

That's the overwhelming problem with boxing fans. 45% support Pacman, 45% support Floyd and both sides sit there and blame the other for things that both do in kind. Then there are the guys like me who keeps it 100% but are so far in the minority that our unbiased opinions don't count.

Cherrypicking is only acceptable when you become universally recognized as a top 5 pfp fighter. Visit Floyd/Pacman and Martinez now maybe even Ward for confirmation.

Mayweather hasn't really had to cherry pick over the last four years. Outside of Pacquiao, the only truly compelling fight was a middleweight in Martinez. The days of there being serious interest in the Margarito and Cotto fights were pretty much dead and buried. Kinda difficult to trash one fighter for cherry picking when your guy is fighting washed up versions of Margarito and Mosley, too.

A fighter has the right to choose who he wants to fight. I also have a right to decide if I'm gonna watch that particular fight or not.. Every single fighter that's either a champion, former champion or a serious contender has picked their opponents. Or had a say in it. Not just Floyd and Manny. Look up an atg, hof, future hof, or current champion.. For the most part, they've picked a cherry or two in their run to get where they're at

fighters box for money. pacquiao and floyd fight for they money. they work for promotors who promote for the money. if they didn't have life changing dollars at stake you wouldn't have high level boxing. paying them handsomely is the only way you can get guys to fight so hard. people are killed in boxing matches. you have no idea what it means to take over a hundred punches from a world class boxer. it can kill you. take money out of the sport and it goes away. the fighters won't fight, and the promotors won't promote.
