Carl Froch: Andre Ward 'open' to rematch with British fighter
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/25115200
WBA super-middleweight champion Andre Ward is "open" to a rematch with Carl Froch, but does not believe the Briton wants to fight him again.
The 29-year-old American beat Froch, who holds the IBF belt, on points in Atlantic City in 2011.
In his latest fight Froch, 36, secured a controversial ninth-round stoppage of George Groves on Saturday.
"From a legacy standpoint, Froch needs me more than I need him," Ward told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"I can go off and fight other guys and never mention Carl Froch's name again."
Ward, who has won all 27 of his professional fights, fears he could be the victim of a poor decision if the bout took place in Britain.

Stoppage was unjust - Groves
Froch's defeat of Groves in Manchester, the 32nd victory in his 34 fights, came when his opponent was leading on all three judges' cards.
Groves believes his countryman will lose his "credibility" if he does not agree to a rematch with him after the "unjust" stoppage.
Ward said: "I'm not concerned about fighting in front of his fans, but it is about not getting a fair shake. I've realistic concerns.
"Like I said, it's my legacy at stake if he didn't beat me, but if something happens like in the Groves fight then that is tough to live down. It's a lot of moving pieces."
Ward admitted there has been exploratory discussions over a rematch with Froch since he beat Edwin Rodriguez on points in a non-title super-middleweight fight earlier this month.
"I know that my promoter has contacted his promoter to see what interest there is," added Ward.
"The initial conversation took place after Froch's rematch with Mikkel Kessler , but I was still injured and we couldn't move forward then the way we wanted to.
"I don't know all the detail, but I've been in the game long enough to know if both sides want a fight to be made, the fight will be made."
What a dumb statement
So if a handful of fights by one promoter I feel are rigged, I should stop watching boxing altogether?
All I can hope is for a fair fight and a good fight at that with a fair result.
Every sport has corruption one way or another, its up to the authorities to deal with it, its not the boxers fault some dodgy promoter is paying off judges or swaying on refs.
My point was simply Ward should avoid fighting Froch here in England and meet somewhere else like Vegas. He wont get a fair crack at the whip judging by some of Herns previous cards
Haye vs. Harrison was rigged, too. Don't forget that one, Frankie.
That link was for American Football, as clear in the link and my terminology. So you haven't even read the post properly or clicked the links. You ignore and rant on.
You're now going back on what you clearly said here infront of everyone, and saying proof of bad score cards. Well that wasn't what you said before, and there is numerous reports on bad score cards. So, by your own standard why are you watching boxing, despite saying one should stop watching in that event?
The Pacman - Bradley fight I heard you scored for Bradley? Regardless, Bradley won on the cards.
After the bout, in a review by five veteran judges commissioned by the WBO, Pacquiao was declared the unanimous decision winner. Bradley nevertheless remained WBO Welterweight champion.
"It's either corruption or incompetence. There'll be a rematch. It speaks to the corruption of the sport. The criminals will be rewarded" - ESPN's Teddy Atlas
HBO's Jim Lampley referred to it as the "worst scoring he has ever seen."
"People, a great sport is now on a respirator. Boxing is presently a polluted playing field in every respect. Tonight was par for the course." - Lou DiBella
"Okay well maybe not worse than my draw with Holyfield but still bad nonetheless." - Lennox Lewis
"Bradley by split decision. I am shocked. I don't even know what to say. That was absolutely horrible" - ESPN's Dan Rafael
"Tim Bradley has scored and upset split decision over Manny Pacquiao, only God knows how" - HBO commentator Jim Lampley
Timothy Bradley after the fight suggested he will look at the fight replay to see if he won the fight
Bob Arum (promoter of both Fighters) "Can you believe that? Unbelievable," "I went over to Bradley before the decision and he said, 'I tried hard but I couldn't beat the guy.'" "I'm going to make a lot of money on the rematch, but this was outrageous."
Complaining or not.....why are you still watching boxing despite effectively saying regardless, one should stop in the wake of such scandals? You can't hide behind scoring's subjective here there's an element of objectivity in scoring too. It's about as close to proof of bad scorecards as you'll get yet you constantly re-write and twist for your own purposes rather that admit you've completely undermined yourself.
It's not something that bothers me, if it did I would stop following the sport..I tho don't believe that every unpopular decision is a result of corruption..My point to the poster was if he does believe that, that certain promoter can continually fix fights he should stop following the sport, cause that would mean the system in boxing is very flawed..I really don't believe this to be the case..
Sorry friend,I'm American..I give two sh1ts about your version of Football..I was more talking the NFL..There have never been any proof of cheating in the NFL and yes I do still watch it..Baseball,America's pass time has taking a huge hit..Why because of PEDS and owners knowing about it,not really rigging the game..I'd say allowing the players to cheat..Baseball is not what it once was because of this..
Oh and btw,I'm not the crying about the outcome and crying corruption either..So don't make this about me..Whoever is the one crying is the one who should stop following..No??
*Couldn't give two shits.
Ward should move on. For now at least. Retire Chavez Jr in Vegas for good PPV money and let Froch resolve his own issues.

Indeed the entire basis of his argument is flawed
Suggesting any are corruptible is opening pandora's box and saying that any decision we don't agree with is as result of corruption...
Nobody is saying that
There are certain decisions which are obvious to everyone that are unfair, which cause and outcry and usually lead to a rematch.
You are putting words in to my mouth and ur reasoning is very futile. My issue isn't with boxing, however with a certain promoter - not the boxers themselves.
I don't watch Soccer,I also was never the one crying about boxing being fixed..So I don't get ya point in the least bit..Go on tho hang onto my statement..At the end of the day I enjoy boxing, and never spoke a word about believe there to be any wrong doing on scorecards..I leave that for the cry baby's who cry because the fight did not go their way..

You clearly said you'd stop watching a sport if there was any proven match fixing. I've linked proven examples of scandals and match fixing in boxing. You have no answer for why by your own standard you continue to watch boxing and undermine your statement.
Oh, and here's some American Soccer sporting scandals:

You've been utterly factually undermined by your own standard yet continue to argue and duck points when it doesn't go your way. :lurk:

By your own words, any corruption in the sport would turn you away entirely from the sport.
By that statement then, please explain why you undermine this by still clearly watching boxing?
I've never said there was no corruption in the sport..If you look throughout history there is plenty..What my point is if you believe any fight that does not favor a popular opinion or does not mirror your own means corruption why follow the sport??It's not only this Hearn business..It's many people crying about any fight that does not go the way they believe to have saw it..Marquez KO's Pac,he's on PEDS now..Pac comes up in weight like a bat outta hell,he's on PEDS now..I just don't get it..People(with no proof)always talking about cheating..Why follow the sport then??
Read the highlighted please..Thanks..

Got him..lol
Suggesting any are corruptible is opening pandora's box and saying that any decision we don't agree with is as result of corruption..I did not like the Froch Kessle 1 result..It was in Kessler back yard(and let's not act as if Kessler promoter is not a shady muther focker)I did not cry robbery or corruption even tho the scorecards suggested as much(not the outcome, but those were bad cards)..You have to chalk it up to that's how the judges seen it sometime..Like I said,in this sport if I'd believe what ya putting out..I'd personally stop watching it..
If you believe any are it should turn you away from the sport..True story,if I found out Football was being rig(any game)it would turn me away from the sport..That goes for any sport, once you find out it's rigged that should be all she wrote for that sport..Oh I get it tho, something only rigged when it does not match how you felt about it..Got it..

There's been massive scandals with Italian football teams in 2006 and 2011/2012 in widespread proven match fixing scandals with a large host of previous, present coaches, players and more were heavily penalised.
I bet you still watched some Italian teams in the champions league or Italy in World cups.
Or based on your own standard...did you not watch them...further still start avoiding the sport entirely?

I don't even know why Ward is looking, pursuing or even entertaining a Froch rematch. The dominating winner of any fight needs to move on. Froch is a step backwards. Ward id becoming persistently harder to swallow for me, as a fan I want him to move on.
Where did I say every Boxing fight is corrupt? learn to read you moron
