Why doesn't Floyd have any sponsors?

Because he generates too much money on his own NOW so when companies does approach him about sponsorship, Mayweather have extremely high demands. Mayweather wants OWNERSHIP % and everything! I heard when EA Sports approached him to be on their Video Game, his demands was a little crazy for just a video game. It is smart on his behalf though don't get me wrong, if someone going to use your name and image and you built up your BRAND on your own to become the highest paid athlete WITHOUT THEM yeah it is going to cost these corporate brands a lot But I think Mayweather do like Placement Product Deals, might have some deals under the table that goes off the books, I doubt Mayweather wear Reeboks and Grant Gloves for Free I am sure they take care of him Showtime/CBS is his Sponsor now, they just game him how much to move from HBO to Showtime?

He chooses not to have any sponsors so he can build his own brand TMT. Anyone who thinks he's not sponsored because nobody wants to sponsor him is an idiot. kobe lost almost all of his sponsors and endorsements for an alleged rape charge.... you honestly think doing time for domestic violence doesnt scare off sponsors/endorsements? so he is trying to build his brand huh? ok dude. last time i checked, TMT made basic fan gear (tees, hoodies, hats, iphone cases, etc.).... the whole collection is just a way to monetize his fanatic followers. but if you want to believe TMT is an actual brand (Nike, Reebok, Adidas, etc.), then by all means... but that STILL doesnt negate possible sponsorships/endorsements in other sectors (beverages, tech, food, etc.).... so youre telling me floyd is rejecting ALL those monetary opportunities so he can sell his fanboys stickers and hats??? c'mon son. floyd is a business man, he would NEVER reject money if it was offered.

sponsorships work well with smaller named fighters. they are walking billboards. fighters get paid a few hundred to a few thousand to "wear" the brand. in many cases, they sign exclusive contracts. floyd is one of the few top echelon athletes that most sponsors cant afford. only the top brands can make it worth it for floyd (reebok, nike, etc.).... but i honestly dont think floyd fits their brand position. thats why pac picked up most of the endorsements instead of floyd. brands see pac as a better investment due to his "hero" persona and worldwide appeal. floyds the highest paid athlete, by a HUGE margin... sponsors & endorsements might be chump change to him. especially compared to the money he makes gambling.

The villian image sells, he already stated that is why he came up with this persona. But I just don't think he appeals to the general public, how many people can associate with his lifestyle. How many people do you think can associate with ANY millionare boxers lifestyle. Do you think you can associate with Pacs lifestyle? NOPE:rofl: floyd got his demographic nailed, IMO. that "swaggy" flashy demographic eat him up. although they cant relate, they fantasize about that lifestyle. floyd is to his demographic the way kardashians are to their demographic. their fans tune in because they want to see the lifestyle they are selling. period.

He doesn't really give much away in terms of interviews, no one seems to know the real Floyd. Who are his friends? There is no real connect with his fans. I could see it happening maybe if they had a whole campaign on "Undefeated" with Floyd talking about hard work/dedication getting him to the pinnacle. However I don't think Floyd looks to inspire others, he only cares about money and himself. Thus his lack of endorsements.

Yeah ditto. Wants the control in making his own money from his own work, doesn't want others (Sponsors) to have a say in how he is to act because he represent their brand, the pride in knowing his money is from his work in the gym and in the ring. He views sponsorship as being somewhat of a slave. You have guidelines to follow since they pay you to market their brand and you represent their brand. In other words, you work for sponsors, they don't work for you.

Floyd is a g. He wears what he wants to wear, he behaves how he wants to behave. Nobody tells him what he can and can't do. I feel sorry for the fighters who get seriously hurt in a fight and they are rushing to put their t shirt and hat on just for sponsorship

Utter rubbish some of the worst soccer players with horrible reputations have some huge deals. Guys who are constantly in trouble on and off the pitch. Horrible rappers who brag about drugs and murder have deals. People learn to forgive and forget easily, Floyd however wont just attach his name to anything, he has to want to believe in the product. Also he'd probably want royalties, which big cooperation's aren't willing to give. They will use ur name and give you money upfront , but any profit they make from the product, you will not receive and you will have no overall say so or ownership over the product Floyd is too rich to be pimped out like that, he has an option to say no, if he were desperate though he would have signed the dotted line with various cooperation's and made a fast buck, but why when he can make large amounts of money without selling his name off to the biggest bidder and having to work another job as a sponsors stooge Oh please, Tiger Woods lost $150 mil in sponsorship just for shagging a few strippers, Terry lost 10mil over his sex scandals, ronaldhino lost his coke deal for sipping a Pepsi. boxers are already, a no go zone because they smash other guys in the head for a living, very few have crossed over to the main stream popular culture and are liked by the moms out there. He has obligations to these sponsors These companies don't hand you big money for no reason, you have to work for it, having a sponsor is having work Floyd has made TMT clothing and cut out the middle man and uses his name to push out his brand, its genius and unheard of by a top sports star You see Kanye West always crying about cooperation's yet signing deals with Nike and here is Floyd showing you, that don't have to pimp ur name out to every cooperation under the sun, you can build up from the bottom. These big cooperation's are dying to have Floyds brand, he's the highest paid athlete, with no sponsorship, that's amazing in itself. He's making so much money he is in the position to turn them down.
