garcia clinches so he doesn't have to fight on the inside. yea with a good ref(not tony weeks) he would be punished for that but when cotto gets close he would be tied up and neutralized.
I strongly disagree there, if one knows how to position himself in close he can fight within the clinches and out of it as well, Cotto had the physical strength to do that. Matthysse couldn't do it because he can't fight on the inside, Matthysse is mid range for the most part.
As much as I like Garcia, Cotto would expose his inability to fight on the inside. Matthysse can't fight on the inside, it was always questionable but now it's pretty much certain, Khan definitely can't, same goes for Holt, this is sort of why Peterson-Garcia would have been interesting but it's not important now. Anyway, I'd go with Cotto by decision.
Garcia has been improving though, just wanted to add that.

people severely overrating the legend of cotto. especially at 140. garcia just beat 2 guys that are better than anyone cotto beat at 140. if tony weeks is in there you got a low blow fest for the ages with no balls surviving.
