What sucks so much is that this fight really could have gone either way. Groves never went down, and we don't know if he can recover or not and what would've happened if he'd survived that round and came out renewed in round 10? But Froch was catching him with some hard shots, so he probably would've finished him off since there was still a minute remaining in the round.
Rematch must happen for the sake of boxing.
Agreed.Groves should have been given an 8 count as the ropes held him up,twice. He can scrap though and I would love to see it.:boxing::boxing::boxing::boxing:
Its hard to say. I felt like Froch had been coming on and that Groves was gassed and getting caught. BUT Groves had never been stopped prior so its hard to just assume he gets stopped here. There were a few rounds left and anything could have happened.
Fight would have been over in the next 15 seconds.
The ref gave Groves/his fans an easy excuse to claim he was robbed. A few more seconnds and it would have been controversy free.
I think Groves still had the speed and ability to make Froch miss a lot so would've cruised out a decision. He'd have lost round 9, but won 1/2 of the last 3 rounds.
The thing is even the score cards are seriously unrealistically close which is another thing that's very suspect there.
It may well have been heading for an equally controversial points win for Froch, officially/technically.
It looks like Froch would have stopped him anyway but if the ref pulled the plug when Froch was hurt we would have thought the same thing then. Who truly knows how it would have ended when the fight was not allowed to transpire the way it should of. We can only guess.
