Like most people, I had Degale beating Groves by a few rounds only to get robbed by Groves, largely due to the crowd reaction swaying the judges.
Groves put up a very good fight against the consensus number 2 SMW in the world, Carl Froch, at least while the fight lasted. Terrible stoppage but I think Groves would have been legitimately stopped before the 12 rounds were up.
Now considering James Degale beat Groves and won more rounds than Froch appeared to be winning, would he do even better than Groves did against Froch, lasting the distance and probably outpointing Froch? who wins poll coming up..
REALLY....You can tell by this thread who just started watching boxing yesterday. When you have idiots using TRIANGLE theories, you know they are new to the sport of Boxing. Once again newbies STYLES MAKE FIGHTS.:spank:
I was going to write "styles makes fights obviously" in the original post but I thought it was a bit... er... obvious..
And for your info I have watched boxing as a fan for 28 years, I'm also a boxer and I have been an assistant trainer for 3 pro boxers.
I think DeGale is talented enough to beat Groves in a rematch, I thought he won a very close fight the first match up against Groves but because he is not very likeable of course they wasn't going to give him the decision
And I think he could out-box Froch fairly easy, if fights smart. I think Groves rematch would be tougher for him than this current version of Froch who is 36 and getting slow as if he wasn't already slow enough
Who are you talking to? Several people, I'd guess the majority of people who watched the fight thought DeGale won. We're not all one person.
The simple fact is he didn't win.
You'd be a lot more credible if you acknowledged that
**** off. Degale didnt win ****. groves beat him. Stop crying about it, it's sad. Really sad considering you have him in your avatar and are clearly biased. Degale is crap.

Was a very very close fight with DeGale, as close as they come, but on last nights evidence, Groves is a completely different fighter now and brings much more whereas DeGale hasn't made the same sort of improvement.
Groves has put in a great performance against a World Class opponent now, it's up to DeGale to put himself in that category now.
He's probably going to have to bring a belt or a serious ranking to the table to get anywhere near Groves again
There is more where it says it was from Anderson's family... He is scum, pure and simple.
I do think Groves should however rematch DeGale... and he will win.
You said Kenny Anderson threatened Groves' and his family which is false. Anderson is not responsible for what his fans or relatives do on Twatter.
Firstly Degale didn't win.
More importantly if Degale is switched on he is very hard to hit. The only issue is Groves power seems to have improved since the Degale fight. I'm not sure Degale's has.
That said I could see him out pointing Froch providing he doesn't do like he did in the Paul Smith fight
Should probably read article first.
Where does it say Kenny Anderson threatened anyone?

The Daily mail :lol1: Full of 'facts'. Even says Anderson is Glaswegian, when he isn't
Someone related to Kenny's wife was mouthing off, but at no point did Kenny threaten Groves or his family.

Anderson didn't threaten anyone. More nonsense. And surely if he did, Groves would want to "bash him up" for it.

I don't remember Groves refusing De Gale, Warren didn't want them to fight again unless it was for a world title and De Gale left (rightfully so) so it wasn't gonna happen.
Anderson is a different kettle of fish, he threatened Grove's wife and family... doesn't deserve the paycheck.
That is nonsense. Warren called for the Board of Control to order a rematch. They obviously didn't and Groves has always gone on record as saying he doesn't need to rematch DeGale because he "bashed him up twice". Laughable really.

DeGale would give Froch a lot of problems but Carl has so many intangibles that you can never count him out.
This thread reminded me of something and it will make me have less sympathy for Groves if he doesn't get the rematch with Froch considering he refuses to give DeGale and even Kenny Anderson rematches after their controversial endings.

Carl is a hell of a fighter, tough as nails but Degale's style is all wrong for Froch. After the damage that Groves inflicted on him, which was probably more damage than anyone out of the Super 6 including Kessler, Carl Froch is gradually deteriorating. He's been in with so many quality opponents it's bound to catch up with him and he did look sluggish last night from the get go.
Degale will catch him on the way down, coming off his prime, he'll have a very good chance of beating him. But, it could be argued that Groves has improved since the Degale fight, it's difficult to assess if Degale has improved. Groves should have given Degale that rematch so it would sort of be poetic justice if he doesn't get a rematch from Froch.
