Here is the link for anyone who has not seen it. Foreign commentary, which is better for watching back as its easier to score without Jim watt talking crap over it all as-usual.
Groves: 10 10 9 10 9 10 10 9 = 77
Froch: 8 10 10 9 10 9 9 10 = 75
I'm sure people may have it different, but when I first watched it I thought groves had won nearly every round. Bit closer when I re-watched it.
How anyone can score round 7 to Froch is beyond me
1 Groves (10-8)
2 Groves
3 Groves
4 Groves
5 Froch
6 Groves
7 Groves
8 Froch
78-73 Groves
most people had it the same as you

I had it something similar to you OP. I ignored Jim Watt's "Grrroves, Grrroves, Grrroves".
77-74 for me...
Round 9 would've been 86-84
All George would've had to do was jab his way through 1/2 rounds and fight won... This isn't even considering Froch really should've had a point taken off him in the fight.
or 86 - 83 had Froch knocked him down or if he got a standing 8 etc. And that's all considering Froch didn't stop him which in all likelihood he was probably on his way to doing.
I don't know why, but they were.
Froch lands 3 jabs in a row: "That jab is just pawing and missing."
Groves's right hand glances off the top of Froch's head. "Another hard right hand, Groves is making a mug of Froch."
They talked like Froch was getting dominated and embarrassed and out of the fight when that isn't even close to what was happening.
Yupp i agree. Froch was buzzed for a few rounds and Groves gave him hell but from the 6th round when Froch shook off the buzz and started flowing and touching him up with that half backhand jab, they were still talking like he was missing all his shots and fighting lousy. I was standing up running on the spot in excitement watching the tide change because I've been watching the sport far too long to let the commentators sway my opinion of what I know i'm seeing happen. Didn't have a favourite in this fight, I was just looking for an exciting competition, which I got even with the early ****ry stoppage.
1. Froch 8 - Groves 10
2. Froch 10 - Groves 9
3. Froch 9 - Groves 10
4. Froch 9 - Groves 10
5. Froch 10 - Groves 9
6. Froch 9 - Groves 10
7. Froch 9 - Groves 10
8. Froch 10 - Groves 9
Froch 74 - 77 Groves
Froch was easily taking round #9 so it would be 84 - 86 (84-85 if Froch could've knocked down Groves which seems to be likely)
It was a close fight and some of the rounds were very close and Froch was finishing very strong as usual.
This wasn't a blatant domination by Groves.
And for the people who say that Groves only needed to use his jab and move around for the next few rounds to win the fight, Groves was tired, there was a reason he started trading more with Froch. I don't believe Groves wanted to exchange punches, he was just tired and had no other choice but to stand and trade punches. IMO Groves had no more energy to move around the ring for the next 3 rounds.
was groves even hit clean in round 9??? I think he was just tired. Froch didn't really land anything clean. This stoppage was a disgrace
What? He was hit with 3 or 4 consecutive bombs.
Jim Watt had an agenda before the fight. When conducting interviews at the weigh in he wanted froch to acknowledge groves was world class although he hadn't fought anybody yet. In the fight itself when froch would get off a combo and groves replied with a single shot he would state that groves was answering everything froch was doing.
I'm sorry but 2 shots is better than 1 on the counter.
But overall groves was winning until froch closed the show. Don't forget that last part.
I am a Froch fan, but don't consider myself a biased fan boy. My score cards were:
Groves: 1,2,6,7
Froch: 4,5,8
Even: 3
Groves: 76
Froch: 74
Round 3 could have gone to either and I would not have complained. In a 10 point must system I would have given the third round to Froch making it 76-75 Groves at the time of the stoppage.
I also think the stoppage was way early but Groves imo was spent. He was going to get stopped eventually. Froch was fresher even though his legs were not fluid.
I think the commentary was ridiculous (box nation feed). This was no domination. I also think that the ref helped Groves before the stoppage in two moments where he was caught by Froch and this impacted the fight a bit (he was given extra time). Ironically I think the early stoppage robbed Froch of a real win, and helped Groves status as a fighter. This was his best case scenario.
I would love a rematch and would actually pick Froch. Froch seemed to figure out Groves angles a bit by round 8. If Groves paced himself could he overwhelm Froch again? Is it in Groves best interests to go all out from the start in a rematch? These are some questions that I would love to be answered.
Also I think Froch was made to look old by Groves. He lost his legs, but I am not sure if that was a result of the knockdown in rd 1.
I like Groves style, and his athleticism makes him an exciting fighter. What would a Golovkin vs. Groves fight look like? That's a dream fight for me.

Yeah no clean shots there :pat:
Its a bit different when you are at ring side, without alcohol, your mates & Jim Watt going on like a cunt..
Ha ha maybe but I would think most posters around here would be able to tell when the commentary is one sided and see the fight for themselves. If you are watching a fight yourself having somebody in the back ground blabbering on can be annoying but it doesn't change what youre watching. Don't get me wrong im not defending the terrible judges just pointing out how a lot of people jump all over the judges then score the fight more than one way themselves.
I thought in some rounds it was a choice between the messy, rough work of Froch, and the cleaner more discernible shots from Groves. I think Groves was up on the cards at the time of the stoppage, but Froch was just relentless.. he was breaking the guy down for sure. Froch was hitting on the breaks, forearming the guy, doing every dirty trick he could muster to sap Groves spirit and make it Froch's kind of fight, and it was working.
Having said that, the ref is garbage,,, he allowed a bunch of hitting on the break, never took a point, and stopped the fight when Groves was very much so alive in the fight and up on the cards, albeit fading.
Yeah, there was a round where Groves landed maybe two decent punches and Froch had a few decent ambush attacks, Froch was clearly winning, and this guy is saying it's a tossup round.
froch dominated the first 2 minutes and he said "the round is in the balance" which I guess is true of every single round in boxing history. they are all in the balance but who is winning jim? it was froch you twat
I think a lot was influenced by Jim Watts disgusting commentary! He refused to acknowledge anything Froch was doing. In fact I recall a round where Froch was winning & he said something like ''This rounds all even, whoever finishes stronger takes it'' Froch closed the round out quite strong and he started backtracking & gave it to Groves  The guy really is a complete joke.
I can't remember the exact rounds I gave to Froch but I think rounds 3? 5, 8 was all clear Froch rounds. The 9th was likely heading to a 10-8
It was far from a shutout I feel & the momentum was most certainly with Froch.

Jim Watt and company talked as if Froch was getting a Mayweather-Gatti type beating. Absolutely atrocious commentary. I had it 76-75 Groves at the time of the stoppage, with a swing round of two that could have gone Groves' way. I'll have to re-watch. Anyway, from round 8 on Froch was turning it up and Groves' night was quickly going downhill. The stoppage was god awful. The ref robbed Froch of a clean victory and robbed Groves of a chance to make a comeback, though in my opinion it was only a matter of time before Groves crumpled.
Boxing scores are shady a lot of the time and sometimes totally ridiculous and everybody is entitled to changing their opinion but it is kind of funny to see so many people here criticize judges daily for their score cards but then change their cards when they watch the fight over again, so what kind of judges would they really make? Judges only get one shot at it so if you watch the fight twice and come up with different scores you shouldn't ever criticize a judge because you obviously don't have it perfected either.
