Waste of a fight. If Cotto-Margarito II taught us anything it was that Cotto can turn an overly agressive opponent and box safely on the outside by clinching/pushing off. He doesn't have Manny's unorthodox footwork but he doesn't need it. Rios will get clobbered regardless.
i think rios abuses cotto for 12 rounds...
I think you need your head checked.Cotto would basically box Rios from the outside and win a lopsided decision.
Joke topic but if Rios thought Pacquiao didn't hurt him then you can bet than Cotto will bring the hurt. Rios doesn't deserve anymore big fights, especially against a legend like Cotto.
Rios is as strong as a bull, but at 154, he loses a wide decision. All he can do is hope that his pressure and toughness remind him of Margarito I, other than that, he'd outgunned and would take a beating. If Alvarado outboxed him with the most basic lateral movement, what does Cotto do with better lateral movement and speed at a higher weight class?
rios doesn't apply the same amount of pressure as margarito, that could be due to the extra weight of moving up, imagine him at 154... he would be even slower
dude needs to move back to 140
Well, I think Pacquiao has better boxing ability than Cotto given foot speed, angles, and lateral movement. I think Cotto would sit and exchange more, so Rios would have more of a chance. Cotto doesn't have Pacquiao's tools to keep opponents hesitant. It would be a more physical fight and someone would probably get stopped.
Cotto vs Marg 2. If Cotto decided to fight that way versus Rios, he could. Rios is not good enough to do anything about if Cotto fought that way.
Rios will be retired in 3 yrs. not skilled enough, not fast enough. Already schooled by an ok fighter in Abril. What the hell can he do vs 154 guys. Hopefully he saves his money
