Honestly, he looked better than usual. You can actually see some definition around his abs now. He's always had that extra layer of fat/soft skin that stops him from looking ripped, no matter what his weight is.
Dem genetics. Thats just how he looks. Might look like sh it but dude can fight for days. He trains hard and has quite the gas tank.
He ran out of gas after about 5 rounds against Alvarado. He can bang on the inside for as long as it takes alright but you make him move around and he tires fast.
Were you expecting him to look like Bradley or something?
Ariza sort of implied he'd be able to do that for Rios a a while ago when he was beefing with Rios' old nutritionist.
"Everybody is saying he's just not a 135-pounder. He is. A guy with a body like that, trust me, you;re a 135-pounder. He just needs help. His job is just to be a fighter. He needs a professional," Ariza explained. Just by looking at the body of Rios in last Saturday's clash with Richard Abril, Ariza is confident that Brandon can still be a force in the lightweight division.
"I can tell you this because I know from experience. Diego Corrales used to be the same way. Now, the closest comparison I have is look at Julio; look at his old fights. Soft around the middle, no defintion, no muscle symmetry, no balance muscle-wise, and now look at him. He was't able to make 160 back then. Why he is making 159 now? Look at his body and look at the way he's performing," he continued. "Without doing obviously what I normally do, the whole body composition thing, I can just tell by looking at Brandon that 135 pounds is still there and if he would do it right, he would be a machine, dude."

Rios still looking soft and squishy.
He always looks drained in the face. I think it just shows in his face though no big deal. From what I've read he usually cuts a lot of weight the last week out. That works for a lot of fighters
I told you guys (last week or 2 weeks ago) that unless Ariza is feeding him roids, he's not going to make drastic changes in one training camp...it's not natural. I predicted he would look about the same, perhaps a bit more defined (which he was), but otherwise it's not realistic for him to just transform his body. He's always worked hard and his body has never responded in that manner, not at 135, 40 or now. It's not like he's hasn't had training camps before, he's a professional and that's just the way he looks.
agree :/ he looked doughy and Pacman's arms look thicker/bigger...I forsee a knockout..
Very stupid logic; the size of your arms have little to do with knockout power. He will be knocked out for other, more logical reasons though.
yeah i agree Rios usually looks bad at weigh-ins but he looked really bad today. i think Team Rios is believing Ariza a lil too much and his methods.
PLOT TWIST ROACH put Ariza in camp Rios on purpose to sabotage Rios and gurantee the win XD, Arizas the inside man!
