Do you people know what the definition of "racist" means? Or what "race" is? Mexico is a country. To call someone a "fuc#ing Mexican" can never, ever, be "racist".
Please show me the scientific chart where they have discovered a new "race" called Mexican?
So it's
Caucasian
Black
Mexican
Asian
etc?
That's how races work?
WTF.
:bottle:
If he called ol' boy a be@ner I'd understand but Mexican? Come on now.

Lets call freddy a Parkinson having american is that an insult?
still arguing about this? sheessshhhh
call me a "mexican mothetfvcker" whatever...
call me a "******* motherfvcker" or "mojado motherfvcker" then we have a problem...
yes Roach was trying to insult/offend and used the word in an insulting context.
Fine....he's not a racist, he's a bigot. Whatever. I couldn't careless what Roach or any of these guys think or believe. I just like to watch boxing and I love the sport. I don't care about anyone's personal beliefs.
thats obvious but another thing that was obvious that you guys will continue to deny is the fact that Roach was saying that in a cause to offend. He's intentions were to offend. He was angry why couldnt he have called him by his name? or just called him an idiot or something why call him by what nationality he is.
that was one of the most pointless and stupid arguments someone has made on this site in quite some time. mexican isnt a race? no **** sherlock. but the tern racism does not only denote prejudice and hatred of ppl of other races, becuase frankly speaking what race was meant to mean and what it has come to mean are two vastly different things. but either way u look at it, its a faulty, unscientific means of categorizing human beings.

Mexicans are white, theres no such thing as Latino race you idiots
I would have said
white
black
native american
but you're right. There is no such thing as a Latino race.
First (before 1492) there were native americans. As far as I know there is no racial distinction between Incas, Aztecs, Mayans and north american people (Mohawks, Sioux, Haida).
Then Europeans and Africans came.
Most of the first Europeans spoke Spanish. They conquered much of "Latin America."
In the 19th C a French King decided to lay stake to Mexico and other areas. To try to create a solidarity against English speaking areas he coined the term "latino." (The French and Spanish are both latin based languages.)
Now we have people saying that Latinos are a race. No. No. No.
Latinos are a combination of 3 races - Ameri-Indian (Native Americans), White and Black. (To further complicate things further both "White" and "Black" are themselves groups of races.) The only thing they have in common in their Spanish colonial history.

Answer my question. If someone pointed at an average brown Mexican, and asked you what race he was, how would you respond?
That's an interesting point - the concept of race is just a social/ scientific construct to categorize people. I would never answer that question of race with "Mexican". Instead I'd defer" to my "ethnicity" as mexican/american. Or if someone uses "nationality" i'm American.
Just my two cents.
What race is Oscar de la Hoya?
What race is Felix Trinidad?
What race is Julio Caesar Chavez?

Using the convention defined by the United Nations, racism includes both ethnic and national discrimination.

C-C-C-C-Combo breaker
This is what I'm getting at. Nobody ever says "Get the **** out of my country you dirty ****ing Caucasian" when being racist to a Mexican.
When Mexican is used in a disrespectful type of context, what they mean is "Get the **** out of here you ****ing brown skinned person." Mexican is just a catch-all term for brown Spanish speaking people in a casual trash talking setting.
What race is Oscar de la Hoya?

Bigoted, Racist, who gives a **** what term is used...
