Plus we can't forget that Ward's last two opponents (Rodriguez and Dawson) both had significant problems with making the 168 lb limit. In effect, Ward has fought two weight-drained fighters, back to back. Add that to his hometown whore mentality, what does all that really say about him as a character, and as a true warrior?
Ward isn't in the same league as Floyd, plus he is a hometown whore. The guy has some excellent skills but he's just not Mayweather level - no one is in my opinion, Mayweather is in a league of his own.
You would have Floyd fighting Edwin, beating him worst than Ward did from pillar to pillar with out all the clinching and hugging like Ward just did.
Really?? At a catchweight of 153??
Ward is good but his grabbing bothers the hell out of me.
who was doing the grabbing in the first half of the fight?
Ward stopped holding when the ref told him to stop, but edwin wouldn't stop holding, so what else could he do, just let edwin hold him everytime he came in and whack him to the head and body?
He saw Edwin wanted that type of fight, so he gave him that kind of fight.
No. Floyd is levels above Ward. You take hugging out of Ward's game and he's not that great.
Wow lol.....
How long Have you been watching boxing.
Ward Is a very dangerous fight for floyd if they the same size and Ward has a very good shot of beating him.
I don't think Ward is all that much like B-Hop either, all three of those dudes are boxers who really break guy's fighting spirit who will get down and dirty though.
Aside from that how each guy goes about that business is vastly different, what makes me laugh is guys who like offensive fighters get so twisted when you say this guys offense is similar to this guys but they are quick to lump all boxer's together. There are elements you can compare with all three, but how they use each element and exploit guys flaws is totally different, but then again if you don't like a certain style I guess it is asking a lot to really look that deep into it.
I say a more Athletic Version of B-Hop!
I don't see anybody at 160-175 coming close to beating him just too skilled and too complete and he basically smothers your offense and really don't allow you to get any clean work what so ever and since a lot of these fighters absolutely SUCK at Fighting Inside they are all going to struggle with Ward Style!
