DeGale v Davis - RBR Discussion

That was a shocking bad fight between an over rated show pony who is about as exciting as watching paint dry and firmly a C grade fighter and a professional sparring partner who just turns up to do the rounds. If that is all you need to do to get a title shot nowadays then boxing truly is ****ed, Degale has only fought one decent opponent in his career and lost yet thinks he deserves a shot at a title, whatever happened to actually earning a title shot by beating other contenders. Based on that if Degale was fighting in my garden i would close the curtains, no wonder he is still fighting in shopping centres.

These C5 cards are ****ing unbearable.

Far too much wasted movement and DeGale just doesn't carry any power. It is very awkward.

It wasn't the greatest fight to watch. Honestly, I'm not particularly eager to watch DeGale again. That showboating at the end was pretty ridiculous in my humble opinion.

Hennessy was looking at Degale during that interview and thinking "What the fuck am I supposed to do with you?"

Degale is right there with Periban, Jack, and Bika. All are on the same level and could beat each other on any given day. Fringe contenders. Bika just happens to have a belt.

Degale is **** he spends too much time moving around the ring showing off without throwing any punches,i would even pick Eubank jr to beat Degale.

Overall, a good performance from DeGale but nothing spectacular. Oppo was poor but DeGale still boxed nicely and got the win. Would have liked to see him up the pace more and got Davis out of there but he was playing with him in the end.

The broadcasters make it seem like Degale is beating a good fighter. Degale is beating an average fighter. There was never anything special about Davis. Degale is not going to go far in the super middleweight division, he better stay in England where he gets hyped up. He does not have what it takes to become a world champion. lol yeah I thought he was good from the way they were speaking, especially about his defensive highlight videos on youtube etc. I wanna look at his fight with Sakio Bika now and see how he performed.

DeGale certainly did enough to win, he certainly looks to still have the same flaws though. Just has too many lapses where even if he is doing well he is not doing the things that will make the fight easiest. In short he needs to tighten up in almost every regard if he really wants to make his mark on the world class level.
