Apparently a K2 Promotions board member who translated a pre-fight dressing room interview with Ustinov has said that the winner of the Tua vs Ustinov fight is likely to get Wladimir Klitschko in the next fight.
You are aware that Pulev embarrassed and stopped Ustinov, right? How would Ustinov be a better opponent for Wlad than Pulev? And he is not even Pulev's best win. He is garbage, Valuev lite.
I think Pulev has a very good chance of giving Wlad a fight, something we haven't seen in years but for that to happen, Pulev's team have to be smart and keep him fighting at least 2 more good, sup-Klitschko level opponents to work up his experience, because he looked lost at sea at points against the wiley Thompson.
If the Pulev fight falls through and with Stiverne preoccupies by the WBC, who else is better for Wlad? Fury and Wilder should fight each other and that leaves Jennings or Banks or Mitchell or Arreola.
Where have you sourced this information from ? I can't find anything online!
also I read Boytsov is up next as the WBO mandatory and if Wladimir Klitschko is successful then he will face Kubrat Pulev in his IBF mandatory.
If the ref in the Ustinov reffed Povetkin v Klitschko, Alexander would have knocked Wlad the eff out.
naw,,,wlad does better against the bigger slower guys. hed have knocked Ustinov out within 6 rounds. I pray this fight doesn't happen. ustionov is not world class and wlad has better options this time around
No, just no. I like Wlad, he is my second favorite active heavyweight, but if this turns out to be true, i will lose all respect for him. I'm OK with him not fighting Pulev next, but if he picks the winner of this farce over Pulev...
yea,,,if he takes this fight I will drop him as a fan. im already giving him A second chance after his last dismal performance but this would be an ice breaker for me. he has other options. pulev and boytsov are mandatories and even a guy like chisora or arreola would be massive leaps above Ustinov. I hope to hell this fight doesn't happen. bad for boxing
What the hell is this? Come on what the ****. It would be just beautiful if karma bit them in the ass, Tua wins tonight and ends up knocking out Wlad. Talk about happy endings!
Fight happened already dude. Ustinov won by embarrassing domination.

Pulev demolished Ustinov and has been screaming for the fight.
I have never accused Wladimir of ducking anyone, but if he fights Ustinov ahead of Pulev, he is ducking.
This is not a terrible fight, Ustinov's size alone makes it interesting. Yes Pulev is ranked as the main contender but I don't believe he wants the fight just yet and the difficulty he had with Thompson suggests he should fight a couple more well rounded opponents.

Ustinov looked sluggish and slow in the Tua fight. It's the first time I've seen a fighter gas without actually throwing punches. I guess breathing makes him tired?
Anyway, Wladimir would murder this guy within 6 rounds or less.
There are about 20 active Heavyweights that rather see against Wlad than Ustinov or Tua... He's slipped in his opposition since Haye w/ the exception of Povetkin (who put up a surprise effort)...

There's Stiverne but he is number one WBC, Haye and Fury have unfinished business, Arreola has shows time and time again he doesn't belong in the upper echelons so who else can there be?
Stiverne v Wlad would be a good fight but he is holding out on Vitali, retirement equals a shot at the vacant title.
