Wladimir Klitschko to face Dennis Boytsov

Didn't he just get a win over a guy who was 7-1 and off that he gets a title shot? He got beat by Leapi too, by a wide margin also. Garbage era, garbage fights!

I Just watched Boytsov in a Sauerland event. God, this guy should go to the sauna and lose a pound to return to cruiserweight. He could be a guerilla there. He is ridiculous in HW.

Boystov is mandatory, though... no? You can't call cherrypick on this one Laced. You have no choice but to give Wlad credit every time he fights his mandatory. (didn't read the thread) I don't know if he is. I'm not calling cherrypick either way. Cherrypick entails you actually fighting a name as well though. Boytsov is OK, if he's the mandatory he deserves his shot. Fair enough - I'll watch this fight but not be overly excited as Boytsov is really nothing special. I watched one of his fights and just remembered thinking he was so average. Other than Povetkin, I guess it's Wlad's best opponent since Haye.

Boytsov is not as bad as Pinaeta, but he's being fighting soft touches all the way through his career, which is a worry in itself. He'll get squashed if Wlad brings his a-game, or get hugged... the klit camp always makes those stupid assertions to help build the fight. its obvious boytsov isnt a big hitter. hes just faced alot of soft touches. hes a descent fighter but doesnt have the firepower to unnerve wlad. Why not pulev next? Is he going to duck him like fury, adamek & jennings? Or will the same people say its not a duck who said the others ducked pulev? I already know the answer... I wouldn't say it's a duck if Wlad doesn't fight Pulev NEXT. If he doesn't fight him some time next year, then it IS a duck. And others did duck Pulev, man. Everyone and their kid brother is always going on and on about how they want a crack at Wlad, and yet, Pulev was practically begging people to fight him in his FINAL ELIMINATOR for one of Wlad's belts. Adamek, Fury and Wilder were all offered the fight and turned it down.

Fine with this fight. Wladimir fights four times a year, some of those are bound to be mandatory challengers. I figured they would hold Boystov back until Wlad was a little older while building Boystov up. Guess its time to cash in.

I agree with him on that one actually...... But, hopefully we will see. Believe me, Boytsov hits by far harder than Povetkin, I am more than sure about this.

So is Pulev, and he is the only guy I would root for against Wlad. Please Wlad fight him, he deserves it more! He will get to it, he cannot fight them both on the same night even though I'm sure he could beat both that way if it was allowed.

This is a good fight for Wladimir. I think it enhances his legacy because Boystov has been in the top ten for a long, long time. That said, I think it's a cash grab because Boystov is way, way too small to stand a chance against a physical tactician like Wladimir.

If he beats Boytsov, he must fight Pulev anyway because he is his mandatory. Actually, Wladimir Klitschko has the following lis of possible opponents : Mandatories : - Dennis Boytsov - Kubrat Pulev Free title défenses: - Deontay Wilder - Winner of David Haye vs Tyson Fury - Chris Arreola - Bryant Jennings - Tomasz Adamek (if he beats Glazkov) - Odlanier Solis ( if he beats Johnson) Quite frankly, those are all good/very good opponents, Solis being potentially his biggest threat ( in my humble opinion). None of them is much of a threat imo (I would root for Pulev but I have no illusions about his chances). Most are good opponents except Haye (meaningless rematch), Jennings (nobody) and Solis (unprofessional fatass). Fury will get KO'd by Haye so I don't consider him a realistic opponent for Wlad.

Disappointing if true. I was hoping for Wlad vs Pulev. Pulev is much better and ten times more proven than Boytsov. Plus he is a great guy and a true patriot. In his country he IS boxing, and he knows it and fights to do his people proud. If he beats Boytsov, he must fight Pulev anyway because he is his mandatory. They almost had it in December.... as long as it isn't somebody like Pienta or Wach... I'm fine. I'm actually interested in this.
