After his disastrous performance against the great Manny Pacquiao back in 2010. He didn't even try to win the fight. He fought and defeated 2 bums since losing to Manny in Dallas.
I love to see him against Robert Guerrero, Keith Thurman, or even against Bradley/Alexander/Broner.
You know what fight I would really like to see?
Angulo-Clottey.
That would be a ****ing fight. Saying that, I'd pick Clottey to put Kirkland in a bodybag, but I think stylistically Angulo and Clottey would be a barnburner. But as I said above, GBP knows how good Clottey is, and using him as an opponent for a ticket-seller is a bad idea.
On PPV? No.
He had Cotto beat, and then gave the fight away with sheer stupidity (he shoulda got the decision, but I never felt bad that he didnt). He is a really, really good fighter and I'd put him in the top 10 at 147 and 154.
Usually, a guy at Clotteys point in his career would be picked up by Golden Boy to use as an opponent, but they have some smart matchmakers over there and the reason they havent sign him is that if they do, Clottey will win.
A guy good enough to lose fights, I will watch him against up and comers as a gate keeper if he wins a few of those I would be willing to see him try his luck at the top again even though I am sure he would find a way to fall short even if he was doing alright
I don't even want to see him on Friday Night Fights. I am perfectly fine without hearing or seeing anything related to Clottey. I am damn sure he is not even appearing on HBO or SHO anytime soon. **** Clottey.
