The bout between Sergio Martinez & Martin Murray in Argentina earlier this year.
I had Murray edging a close fight. Was I off because I was A - drunk & B - wanted Murray to win?
I'd appreciate your views on the fight. Thanks.
To disregard them just because of how the system works is stupid, you have to look at the results. Usually when a fighter lands more total punches and more power punches, that means he deserves the win. You can look up the punch stats of all the decisions that you consider questionable and you will see that pattern.
There were a lot of rounds were I thought Sergio landed a lot more than compubox scored. Even going by compubox you can tell that Murray distributed most of his landed punches in rounds 6,8, and 10; Sergio's punches landed were spread out over more rounds.
Although like I said, unless the statistics are really far apart like a 2:1 ratio, I completely disregard Compubox and so should any boxing fan w/half a brain.
You do realize its a guy pressing numbers during the live viewing right? The margin of error is HUGE!
Oh so when he says he lost the fight he's being honest, but when he says he out-fought and out-thought Martinez then it's because Hatton got in his head. You're not biased at all.
When the fight ended and was interviewed by Kellerman he said:
"Sergio Martinez won fair and square – I didn't do enough," said St Helens fighter Murray to end a night of honesty and decency on both sides of the ropes for British boxers.

Hatton was really the first to complain about a "robbery." I think it's a great way for Hatton to promote his fighter, making people think Murray was robbed and that his fighter actually has a claim to be the be the best middleweight in the world.
I had Murray when watching and scoring live, have yet to rewatch it to see whether I was being biased with my scoring. I think it could probably have went either way without any legitimate controversy.
Compubox is just a fat dude pressing buttons, unless the margin is something like 2:1 or more I completely disregard them as should any knowledgeable boxing fan.

Whether you like it or not that's what he said in the Kellerman interview. If you don't like it go complain to someone else. I'm sure Hatton got in his head afterwards and told him "he out-thought Martinez."
By the way is this better for you?

Or maybe he actually watched the fight back and realised that he clearly won. It's easy to think you haven't done enough when you're in the other fighter's hometown.
Are these the punch stats of somebody who clearly won the fight?

It was imo unless you were begging to give every round to Murray lol

I just posted the quote alongside the source:

He said Sergio "won fair and square" I don't see why some people like to think every close fight has to be a robbery.

“He won the fight on the cards but when I saw him in the hotel on the Monday after the fight he couldn’t even look me in the eye because he knew he got out thought and out fought.”

.
He said he didn't do enough to win in Argentina, meaning he had to win by a big margin to get a decision.

He said Sergio "won fair and square" I don't see why some people like to think every close fight has to be a robbery. He said this when Kellerman interviewed him after the fight.
Lederman had Martinez winning by a point, and that's without the additional knockdown. Don't act like it was a clear win.

But the American ones and anyone who can score a fight successfully had it for MArtinez lol

He said it on the HBO telecast when Kellerman interviewed him. He said he was hurt in the 11th round (I thought he looked more hurt at the end of the twelfth) and that he didn't do enough to win the fight.

Yeah he felt straight after the fight that he didn't do enough to get the decision IN ARGENTINA. That's the key part of the quote which you will leave out. It's a little different from "admitting he lost" but you guys will cling to anything.
He has said on numerous occasions that he though he won.
I'll bring the source when I find it, but I do believe he felt he didn't do enough when Kellerman interviewed him and he also said he was badly hurt in the 11th.
I FOUND IT:

Anyhow, this poll was taken immediately after the fight:
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=594830
51% had it for Sergio, 40% Murray, 9% a Draw; I don't remember seeing a "robbery" where most people thought the guy who got the decision won.

Except directly after the fight he thought he lost lol

Martin Murray admitting he lost and if I come across him saying he was hurt and almost stopped I will post it here just for you :luvbed:
That's half a quote by an obviously biased article, the guy said he scored 10 rounds for Martinez. I wouldn't be surprised if it was you that wrote it :lol1:
