So after watching the fight coming back from work and opening NSB to see 5/20 posts being about how he was exposed i've analysed the fight and came up with this.
1. Outboxed and won every single round vs Stevens
2. Demonstrated he has an iron chin
3. Stopped Stevens
4. See 1
5. Is relatively good looking
6. See 1 again
7. Vitali's eye wasn't even that bad, could've continued and stopped Lewis in the 8th
I wouldn't say he has a iron chin, he looked stung a few times, he has a solid chin though
He was throwing way to much power shots for my liking, he was gassing by round 6, but not much as Stevens
Triple G has power, a great jab, he's a good boxer, but I hope he fixes up his defence, he ate up a number of counters, I think there is some room for improvement.
He is exciting to watch, great for boxing, cant wait for his next fight, him and Danny Garcia have made by 2013 better.
Ur last point about Vitali Kilt, don't agree, he would have ended up blinded or KO'd, he was saved from a old man with experience.
Just a simple question to a simple poster.... Please tell us how" "Klitschko could have ended up blinded" from a cut across his eyebrow, nowhere near his eye and not interfering with his vision AT ALL, and with the moderate bleeding stopped for at least 2 rounds ...
I've quoted facts you've talked nonsense, so please inform us.
As for the rest, Golovkin was in control for the whole fight and whatever punches he took he was well able to take them.
I like Golovkin but why do fans make a fighter great based off how they do against mediocre opposition? Right now we are seeing a bum of the month club and members here are comparing him to the greats based on this.
Yeah, all very true if he fought Froch who can set a good pace is durable and have good power himself every GGG question should be answered because I don't see and would be stunned if GGG got him out before 12 rounds are completed.
The thing about Taylor was that he had no killer instinct and was an awful finisher which we have seen GGG isn't and knows when to place punches on a hurt opponent.
true about taylor,, GGG is much more complete offensive fighter than taylor who basically had a good jab and a 1-2 combo,, GGG is the real deal, i just dont like how he goes straight backwards,,, Other than that, i think he is the most complete fighter in the mw division
He dominated, knocked down and knocked out Stevens and ate 3-4 combos in the whole championship fight and he got exposed?

Guy gets hit with a few shots as he's slaughtering someone and he gets exposed.
Gotta love Boxingscene :)
Sir, this post deserves to be greened!
The only thing of interest in this fight was how GGG would handle Stevens left hook since that is about all he had to bank on to win, he landed it hard and flush but it wasn't effective.
The question about GGG's chin was answered and he passed with flying colors.
yes that is a very accurate statement,,,
my few question marks about ggg was
1. his chin -- that has been answered
2. stamina in a long tough fight-- that is still a question mark since nobody has been able to take him into deep waters in a competitive fight
3. his defense--- I just dont like how he goes straight backwards,,, it reminds me of jermaine taylor, and taylor got past winky and hopkins and joppy doing that but eventually it caused his downfall vs guys like pavlik, froch, abraham..
Im not trying to say that ggg is a bum going backwards, just that the only time i have seen people have any type of success against him, it was when they got their punches off first and made him go backwards,,,
GGG's offense is his defense,, people feel that power and dont want none,, eventually though he will fight a guy like froch that will not be afraid of the power and then we will see how ggg reacts,,,
Yeah good post, Stevens barely won a round. But Golovkin still needs to fight some names, the win was good but it's just what's expected to be honest.
Stevens was outboxed and beaten by Jesse Brinkley FFS.
That Avatar LOL
if floyd wins every round against kahn and knocks him out in the 8th after taking a couple of shots without being too bothered by them it will be declared a great and dominating performance ... GGG does it to stevens and he's exposed.
I just post facts bro
You did forget to mention how Golovkin was slurring his words in his non-native language after fighting for 24 minutes, due to Stevens rocking and nearly knocking him out as well, though
Pretty hard to get exposed by a fighter of Stevens caliber. GGG fought an opponent that should be easy and did just what was expected. Got him out of there.
1) Stevens landed punches on Golovkin:
Defense = EXPOSED
2) Stevens threw on his front foot and Golovkin backed up for 5 seconds:
Fighting Backwards = EXPOSED
3) Golovkin flinch for .000476 seconds when Stevens landed huge punches
Chin = EXPOSED
4) Took 8 rounds to stop Stevens
Power = EXPOSED
Basically golovkin is a feather fisted, glass chinned, defenseless fighter who cant fight backwards. :dunno:
I'd say this is a pretty accurate summary here. Spot on
I said stung as in like when a bee bites you or you are hit with a jolt of electricity, and that made him back off which was bad for him because going back he was open for more. But you are right he was stunned really once i referred to that one moment also because i noticed his legs. But that doesn't mean he was "exposed" neither does it mean he has an "Iron chin" drawing either of those conclusions over last night is almost as funny as this thread.
How so? Stevens hit him with flush punches more than once and he didn't even blink.
golovkin is the real deal, he's the next pacquiao of boxing.
he is really exciting to watch and always gives the fans everything and more.
luckily for us boxing fans he's not a fraud!

golovkin's got a body for days, big dog.
he can definitely get it.
He got stunned once, for half a second, in round 5 I believe. Stevens hit him with couple of times and GGG didn't even blink.
Before the fight everybody was talking about how GGG would react when he'll get hit with flush punches from Stevens.
You got your answer, he has a iron chin.
