Why was Kessler not all that upset about losing to Froch in rematch? It was to the point he bowed to the crowd and still seemed upbeat like he usually is. Hell he was even enjoying the post fight coverage sitting down with Froch even. Why was that? :). You'd think he'd be disappointed like most boxers who lose.
Maybe that's the reason froch won the second fight, He wanted it more then Kessler.
I don't know other then kessler deserves respect anyway.
Kessler looked tired in the second fight against froch, offcourse he showed glimts of how good he was/could have been. And anybody but froch would have been atleast knocked down of some of the best shots he landed on froch.
Sadly kessler has been injury plaged and lacked motivation the latest years.
From the perdomo fight he seemed to have lost handspeed and that espeally that made him so good-PRESISION.
He underestimated ward heavily. Almost everybody did, bookies, trainers and people inviolved in the supersix.
He traveled to wards hometown not in his best shape, got that narssist virgil hunter in his locker room ding his dirty tricks.
The ref lets ward headbutt cuts, hold and ruin the fight. at the same time you realize what a limited danish trainers he have.
I get disappointed in kessler but still awed by his toughness and attitude.
Guys like Kessler realise that the margins are fine at the top level and you're likely to pick up losses along the way. Losing a fight is not the end of the world.
Froch and Kessler are warriors, and I thought clearly Froch won both fights anyway. After the second fight Kessler had one official win over Froch on his record when he probably was aware he lost both fights. That's probably why he was happy. But he's a cool dude so no disrespect intended. I just had Froch winning both fights.
Kessler made big money so of course he was happy.
plus he doesn't have a delusional grandiose ego like the
other guy that night. Groves will be the new 168 champ shortly.
I thought the fight was close, he probably felt he won a close decision near home and lost a close decision away from home.
He might be thinking of the 3rd fight if there was a stipulation in the contract. He might be at the point where he just doesn't have the passion for boxing anymore, like tyson once did towards the end of his career.
It was a fantastic fight, the crowd really enjoyed the fight and both men gave their 100% ... Kessler knew it was going to be hard, he was almost stopped at the end of the fight, so he just accepted that during that night the better man was Froch, that's it.
I just don't think he's that type of guy to get all worked up. He fought a great fight and gave it his best, but he accepted that Froch was just the better man that night. There was no reason for him to hang his head. The crowd cheered for him as well.
upset for what??he fought a damn good fight for an aging injury plagued fighter at the end of his career, and the better fighter won..would you rather hear him cry and scream robbery?
No...The exact opposite, I liked Kessler already but got even more respect by his attitude afterwards. Its just rare to see that type of attitude these days and was happy to see it. :).
I was glad the crowd cheered for them both. Reminds me of the Ward and Gatti III crowd after the fight :).
