WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles, 20 years old. Not only did he win those titles at age 20 - he won them decisively and took the heavyweight division by storm. Crushing world champions like never seen before on the big stage.
The greatest achievement to have ever been accomplished in the sport of Boxing IMO. Nothing will ever top this. Possibly the greatest accomplishment in the HISTORY of sports.

henry armstrong held 3 championships when there where only 8 in all of boxing and one belt per division. legend has it he should have won the middleweight as well, but got jobbed. that's probably the greatest thing anyone has ever done in boxing. that **** will literally never happen again.
In 1940, Armstrong challenged Ceferino Garcia for a portion of the World Middleweight Championship. Garcia was recognized as champion only by New York and California. Because the fight was scheduled for just ten rounds, the fight was recognized as a title fight only by California. Garcia retained the title with a draw, but most at ringside felt that Armstrong had won. A victory would have given Armstrong a fourth divisional title at a time when there were only eight weight divisions.
You are such a one upper. I hate your guts.
love you too, pea. :boxing:
He was a beast. Him and Jones Jr is what got me "hooked" many years ago!
they changed boxing IMO
tyson isn't given enough credit because dude is ****ing 5'10 lol
think about that for a minute
then realize he dominated HW.
Tyson accomplishment
Youngest to hold versions, but not undisputed. He became that when he beat
Mike Spinks. Patterson is the youngest undisputed champ, an earlier pupil of
Cus D'Amato.
He beat 3 fighters who were ranked P4P #1 at the time of him beating them.
Duran vs. Leonard 2 - Duran was P4P # 1
Hearns vs. Leonard 1 - Hearns was P4P # 1
Hagler vs. Leonard - Hagler was P4P # 1
Pretty extraordinary accomplishment that nobody ever talks about.

Had to scan that ring magazine that's why it took me so long to reply.

you god damn right!
Ray Leonard holds the most extraordinary accomplishment in boxing history that will never be broken.
Do you know what that is?
Was it winning titles in two different weight divisions in the same fight?

Won the WBC 168 and 175 titles in one night?
And of course , his out of ring lifestyle took him out of being the along the ATGs...same thing that happened with Pacquiao when he was on top but in a different way (politcis/gambling/womanizing/losingfocus/moneyhungry/etc./not training)

There was and has never been a more feared man than Iron Mike Tyon!
I can't help but think how much potential he had and let it go to waste. He was amazing though while he was still focused on being the greatest heavyweight ever. I first started watching him in 1986 at age 13. He was my idol growing up, but as a kid you can't help idolizing someone like that. He will always be my favorite fighter in history. Its really great to see all the love he's getting now with all these shows they make on him. Noone talks about Holyfield or Lewis. It just goes to show how great he was during such a short time.
