There's a number of world-class fighters today that travel outside of their home country consistently - you've got Pacquiao, Khan, Marquez, Froch etc.. Compare that with the likes of Mayweather, Bradley, Garcia etc.. It has to be said a lot of US fighters have it much easier because they don't travel overseas to fight.
What you think away-from-home, traveling fighters are the truest warriors in the sport because they make the most sacrifices?

Majority of the fighters you listed fight in Mexico or America(Las Vegas, which is basically Mexico north). You really think Mares is some road warrior because he fights in the United States:lol1:. He lives and trains here:lol1:
"I don't give much credit for fighters going on the road"
stay supporting fighters that only fight in their backyard. I'll take a roadwarrior like Pacquiao or Santa Cruz over your homecooking bums anyday
No, I don't give much credit for fighters going on the road. Most big time fighters will travel to whatever country weeks before they fight. You can't tell me that you can't adjust to where you've been for weeks or even months for a single fight. Even a rooting crowd to me doesn't give a home fighter any type advantage in my opinion, since both fighters are dealing with the same noise. This isn't some WWE sh1t where a fighter is hulking up because his name is being chanted over and over.
Its not even that, most countries will favor their own, in terms of scoring or some bias against the visitor. This is usually due to the home fighter being the one with the push and power behind him
TS has a interesting theory that I agree with
I'll take it one step further, if you grew up poor in a third world country than you'll most likely be a warrior in the ring
One prime example of this is Kovelev. Hes a freaking beast that wants to destroy you
Yes they are and notice they all come to fight. Not just to win a 12 round snoozer on points
Pacquiao
Marquez
Matthysse
Maidana
Mares
Golovkin
Froch
Ruslan
Morales
Barrera
Donaire
Angulo

You do know that Bradley had to go overseas to win his first world title right?
Not a valid point. There is no need for froch ward 2. What are we gonna put that on the manny ricky hatton 2 undercard? Now if froch and ggg get it poppin then england is in play,
Look man, see the hwt divison. They go where wlad and vitali make them-unless some crazy russian dude overpays.
So can we please just accept that professional boxing decision are driven by economic interests and not try and make it something else.
Froch has been on a good win streak, there's demand for a Ward rematch in the UK if nowhere else. A lot of people think the fight could be compelling if Froch had a hometown advantage, and let's face it, there's not really anybody else out there stepping up to fight Ward.
Well obviously the monetary gain is the main motivation for traveling but there have been many occasions where US fighters just wont travel overseas, even if the money is right ----- just think Froch vs Ward II for a recent example..

American fighters have definitely had it a bit easier historically because fighters tend to come to them rather than the other way round, and it still holds true today although not for all divisions. It is an advantage that American fighters have that the typical American boxing writer/historian fails to duly acknowledge.
Glenn Johnson is the fn man. Calslappy ducked him three times!

well calzaghe wanted nothing to do with johnson but what that got to do with the question?
dude, what the fcuk is wrong with you? fighters come to the US because the money is here. You think any of the guys you listed make the same money fighting in their home countries?
They aren't "true warriors" they are independent contractors going where the money is-same way telephone/power company guys from all over the country came to the New york area after Sandy or the New Orleans area after Katrina.

yes they are. Rios doesn't subject himself to Mexico, nor does pac to the Philippines, or Marquez, or Margarito, or Froch, or provdnikov and golovkin. these guys travel. can't say the same for floyd, who's willing to fight on Mexican holidays but never in Mexico. or poopkins who always has something to say about black power but never fought in africa. sht don't make any sense. the proof is in the pudding.
How many times has Froch fought abroad?
I don't blame American based boxers not wanting to fight over here in the UK, the tax is ridiculous, would you come to a country which takes 60% of ur winnings? The UK is fine as long as ur not a foreign boxer coming here, because u'll see ur pay cheque dwindle
Pac is a bad example he had no choice but to fight in the US, that's where all the money is and now that he has a fanbase he can fight in other parts of the world
Khan and Hatton I give credit too
Froch has fought abroad about as much as Khan and Hatton.
