The network/promoter cold war has been good to us so far...but how much longer?

When you look back at the fights we've gotten this year its hard to complain. 2013 easily beat 2012 which was one of the better years since the late 2000s IMO. Both houses beefed up their cards and actually got some big names in with each other. We even got a definitive champ at 140 which is rare these days. I think if you were to look at the matchups without knowledge of who the fighters are promoted by, you might not even know there was a cold war. However, I dont think this can continue much longer. Fans can't handle more than 2-3 PPVs max per year and the networks will have to adjust their budgets eventually. There are only so many quality matchups that can be made with a promoter AND network cold war. Something will have to give and my bet is it will be GB and HBO reconciling first. Still a great time for boxing, it could be a lot worse.
