no he will not.for a couple years already people have been building the excuse that pacquiao is not the same and doesn't have the killer instict so no brandon or any other fighter will not get any credit for beating pacquiao
speaking nothing but the truth
Floyd fans have 0 to cry about..Floyd is lineal at 147 and 154 and still undefeated chump
Yet, they cry .....
" ..... but Floyd was fighting with a hurt shoulder against Castillo"
"...... but Floyd had the sniffles against Cotto"
I think if Rios does beat Pacquiao, it wouldn't sink in at first for those saying they'll give Rios credit. But then eventually, it will sink in that prime/peak Pacquiao would never lose to a face first brawler like Rios. In fact, this is Pacquiao's favorite style to fight against because he pretty much has to do no chasing, no attempt at cutting off (Attempt because Pacquiao can't cut off the ring for sh*t), no cramps. If Pacquiao has any confidence left, we should see 2003-2010 Pacquiao that night.
To Dominican Soy, I agree Rios problem is his footwork but you also forgot to mention that his defense is terrible. If you're gonna go in there with your defense being your chin against Pacquiao, your only win will be surviving 12 rounds with no facial injuries. Something Margarito couldn't even do. If Margarito had anything special, it was his chin. Margarito, Cotto, Diaz, De La Hoya, all looked like they had been jumped by multiple men after their fight with Pacquiao. I'm pretty sure this will be Rios fate.
Well ask yourself if the Pacquiao that fought Marquez, Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto in 2008-2009, loses to the current Brandon Rios. And there's your answer if Rios should get credit for beating Pacquiao or is Pacquiao washed up.
Personally I think Rios might be a small notch above David Diaz. So even if Pacquiao lost a step or two, he should be able to slaughter Rios' face over 12 rounds or force a late round TKO either by Rios corner, the ref, or the doctor.
If Rios wins he will be a much bigger name, will he get full credit no he certainly won't but it would still give him enough credit overall because most don't give him a chance.
Still some will take credit away but should Rios win he will be in a better place than he has ever been in his career.
This is what's messed up about the whole situation.
I think Pac was a beast in the last JMM fight, but ran into a solid shot.
And what, he cant dare to be great for 36 more minutes of his life?
This is what's crazy, no matter if he is great that night and lets just say Rios dared to be extremely great that night and gave us the best win of his career, no one would notice because the excuse will be Pac is washed up.
If he loses people will say he wasn't that good.
But if Pc wins, people will say "He's better than ever!"
So he'll get no credit regardless.
No one gets credit for beating Manny,i thought you knew that
This bitch still crying because nobody wants to give Floyd credit for his fantasy win over Pacquiao hahahahah
Gong, come on dude. Rios has a very slim chance. SO slim that their promoter has already discussed who WON'T be fighting manny next.
The facts are this is Rios 1st time at ww. He is slower than Manny, less skilled, and has less power. Thats the reason Manny is still a 4-1 favorite.
You, for the longest time have been spouting how full of **** uncle Bob is, and now you are taking him at his word? Yeepers!:lol1:
A better question would be how can any real boxing fan, and not some giggly, bumsniffing fanboy, think that Rios doesnt have a chance? Boxing history has proven repeatedly that fighters decline with age and with the amount of punishment taken over time(and Manny has taken a lot in his long career because of his style). It has also proven that fighters rarely comeback to anywhere near where they were after being sparked clean out.
agreed...i've said it since the beginning that there is a good chance that pac might get ko'ed..people are just in denial thinking that somehow a 34 year old who has been KO'ed unconscious will magically bounce back like nothing happened.
i would love to see pac look strong and still be 100% but i'm not going to lie to myself and say that the KO hasn't affected him..
my question is this:
how could any boxing fan (real fan or bandwagon fan or pretend fan or frontrunner fan) seriously consider rios having a chance in this fight?
manny lovers and haters alike should know this fight is nothing more than a confidence building fight for manny to get a highlight reel KO and get back in the mix. shot or not, manny obliterates rios cause rios is pure trash. nothing more than trash.
mind boggling this fight is being discussed with "what ifs." the only "what if" should be "what if manny literally ends rios' life?"

Bradley didn't deserve credit, nor did Marquez for any of their first 3 fights, and in the last fight it appeared JMM was on roids and before his KO punch, he was getting beat.
If Pac loses this fight he is done. He would have killed Rios a few years ago.
I'd give him full credit, Rios has actually taken more punishment and he hasn't had the long career Manny has, he's already slurring his speech too. It's not like he's any fresher because he ain't. People think that just because you fall under the pressure style Pacquiao is suppose to handle you, Rios mixes up his attack in close, his only issue is his foot speed which is why I don't see him beating Pacquiao. Now if Rios can close the gap fast enough it should get interesting.

Does rios get credit if he beats PAC or do we just say PAC is washed up | BoxingScene Community
