What speed would you guys recommend? I had 15MBPS but my apartment switched providers and the new company has a few different options. For the guys who stream what speed internet do you have and it is smooth when you stream?
I had the most basic package at one point and I streamed just fine. I couldn't have anything else running of course. So yea, you should be fine.

You mean the low quality illegal streams? I was watching those when I had a 1.5mpbs connection. Most of the choppiness usually has more to do with the source, not your connection speed. I now have an 18mbps connection and illegal streams are still pretty choppy half the time.
8 should be more than enough.
8mbps should be more than enough - I would start there for practical purposes...IDK about all companies but, in general, it's easier to upgrade a speed plan like than it is to downgrade, especially if you're in contract. Downgrading might involve some type of additional fee for breaking contract.
I used to stream with 6 Mbps. Then switched to 25 Mbps. Literally, no performance enhancement at all. The same streams that lag and stutter due to overload of bandwidth will still lag and stutter with the higher internet speed.
It comes down to how many people are on that stream.
I was figured how many people were using it probably had something to do with it.
8mbps is enough

Thanks man, I appreciate it.
It depends, most low quality streams don't require much bandwidth at all. An Old Style DSL connection will do. Now with the toprank website, they stream at a very good HD quality. It is spotless and you should have at least a 15mb connection, maybe more, to get it. I love their streams, where you can make out faces 10 rows back in the crowd.
Go here and click watch, if you can stream it smoothly, you can stream anything http://www.toprank.tv/index.jsp

I don't usually stream but 15mbps should be enough
15mbps was fine when I had it but the current company doesn't have a plan at 15, so it's either 8 or 30mbps. I know when I was younger I think my parents had like 3mbps and it was too slow and fights would be extremely choppy to the point where it wasn't even worth it to watch.
