Ok here it is. Kell Brook is 31-0 (21KOs) but for the vast majority of his career he has fought domestic opposition and journeymen. I personally think Brooks best win comes against a past his best Mathew Hatton, who imo was never all that. Brook has gone life and death with joureymen such as Carson Jones and he was shook to his core against Senchenko (his big step up). After the fight last night people were ready to anoint Brook a world champion, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Brook is a very tidy fighter that does everything ok but I find him one paced (which makes him easy to time) and he has a very leaky defense. I believe when Brook finally steps into a ring with someone that punches back he is going to get Knocked out.
Your thoughts?
I did not see the fight last night so can't really comment on whether Kell has made a dramatic improvement or not.
For the record I think he's at least earned the right to fight the best and that will allow us to definitively see whether he's just Euro-class or something more convincing.
Personally, I think Kell has tended to come in and out of his fights...one moment he's throwing good shots and moving well, but then he switches off and allows the other guy to reset and land some free shots of his own.
Not sure whether it is a concentration, fitness or pacing issue but he's got to get it resolved before stepping in with someone like Alexander and if he goes into cuise-control against a Khan who is still upright and firing.....Kell will be in some serious bother.

Brook is a very, very good fighter. I dont see anybody overrating him, just a bunch of pansies moaning about how supposedly crap he is.
Do you consider Alexander world level? I see that as a competitive fight.
It's a mismatch it's not even funny. Brook really is a journey man,you are really going to be disappointed in brook when he steps up. Alex is world class at the low end but brook no way beats Alex
Hearn says if Khan doesn't get the FMJ shot, it's going to be Brook v Khan on PPV. He's open to a Broner PPV too and if neither fight happens, it's Alexander in March.
When did he say that about khan?
Agree. He is above domestic level but far far below world level. His next fight will clearly highlight this fact.

He's somewhere inbetween for me. He wont beat any of the real top fighters at 147, but he could mix it with some of the contenders IMO.
I don't really see anyone over-hyping that much to be honest. People rate him and are eager to see how he matches-up against better opposition..not so sure people are actually predicting him to be P4P or anything like that though.
He is average in every way and his poor opposition inflates his ko%.

He has not method to what, hes doing he just throws randomly, he has no ring iq whatsoever, I would never describe a fighter like him as skilled.
I think to consider him skill less is abit unfair.
From what I see he has decent counter punching, decent head movement, decent timing and sometimes puts punches together well.
Not that I think he's overly skilled, he's not. But he does have at least some skill IMO.
Agreed on the ring IQ though. Doesn't seem to have any method to his madness and seems very one dimensional.
I mean, I think he's decent or solid.
He has solid skills and ability but when he steps up he's in big trouble.
I personally can't take any fighter seriously who blames a loss or poor performance on being out of shape.

People are way too harsh on Brook he'd beat most those bum ass Welterweights with his jab alone.
He needs to move his head & needs to tighten a few things but for me hes a decent fighter & probably the U.Ks best hope of another world champion.
What makes him good, he has fought cans and still shown gaping holes in his game. The guy sucks.

Brooks good but has lots of flaws.
And he definitely needs to step up he's 27 it feels like he's been around forever yet has done so little.

Hearn knows Brook is a bum that is why he wont put him in there with real fighters. And you are right, he hot caught with a shot by Shevchenko, any good fighter will knock Brook out?
Hearn made the Alexander fight three(?) times. I think they're going to make it again. Then again, you might not consider Devon Alexander a real fighter.
