You heard Bernard he is one of the elder statesmen in the game time to end the cold war between top rank and golden boy and make the best fights possible
By him fighting or him negotiating?
Top Rank doesn't have any LHW to even begin ending it... only two I remember are Mike Lee and Seanny Monghahen
The way he was talking in his post fight interview I got the impression he was talking about ending the Cold War between showtime and hbo
Although I wouldn't do this (I subscribe to both networks), I would recommend boycotting GBP/Showtime/Floyd PPVs, and then maybe GBP will agree to have some of their fighters fight on HBO like they used to. HBO kicked them out for getting too greedy.
do you work for hbo?

Really. The only thing I can think of here is to cancel your entire HBO and ShowTime subscriptions.
But from 154 and up, the Cold War doesn't bother me. 147 and below is where its really hurting the sport.
People say this all the time and complain but still do nothing about it.
I already got rid of both networks. Streams on the phone ftw.

BHop knows the numbers that SHO and GBP are doing and how much money they are bringing in and they are very likely in the red
The Guerrerro fight lost $12 mill and the Canelo fight barely broke even.
The reason why HBO dropped GBP is because they were losing money overpaying hypejobs on GBP's roster. The same thing is happening at SHO and BHop knows it
Thats why hes on his knees begging for HBO and Top Rank to take him back
Why do you say that? HBO is doing fine. They've got top fighters in multiple divisions.
Golden Boy has a great roster from 140-154. Outside of the welterweight division and its neighboring weight classes though they have very little presence.
Chavez-Martinez was a huge fight at the time, a match that had been building for nearly a year and a half. Canelo-Lopez was a joke fight, it was almost embarrassing for the sport.
Hindsight is 20/20, but HBO didn't make a mistake going with Chavez-Martinez.
I agree Chavez-martinez was the bigger but we all know Canelo vs Lopez was his 4th opponent literally. Golden Boy has more brand name fighters than anybody. What helps HBO more than anything is 6 mil subs difference between them and Showtime.
I'm thinking HBO is regretting that decision everyday

At the time your right; but now it was a horrible decision Chavez jr is a side show while Canelo was part of the biggest event in history.

It was a very logical decision though. A 500K PPV fight vs. an overpriced WCB/BAD fight for the September 14 date. One was a lineal Middleweight fight between the Champion and the perceived #1 contender, the other an unproven prospect w/a gift wrapped 154 title v. a 140 journeyman moving up. Made perfect sense at the time.

Lara v. Martirosyan (November 10, 2012)
It wasn't impossible for GBP and Top Rank to work together before the GBP/HBO feud. GBP low-blowed HBO by sending their top stars (who HBO invested millions promoting) to Showtime and tried forcing HBO into overpaying for mismatches and turning down big competitor PPV fights for mismatches (see: Martinez v. Chavez Jr PPV/Canelo v. Josesito September 14 date feud).

The last TR-GBP event was Pac-Hatton, correct?

I'm not boycotting anything because two cable or promotional companies aren't getting along. If it isn't a fight I want to see I just won't watch it but I wont go out my way to do it.

Boycotting the PPVs is enough. That's where the big money is. Me not watching Alexander vs Porter won't change anything.
 It's the Golden Boy/HBO feud that's killing boxing :slap:
It's killing some great fights at 122-130, 140-47, 160 and 168-175.
Titleholders in bold.
Showtime:
Golden Boy Stable:
122-130: Santa Cruz, Mares
140-147: Mayweather, Garcia, Matthysse, Broner, Maidana, Alexander, Thurman,
154: Mayweather, Canelo, Lara, Trout, Angulo, Molina
160: Quillin
175: B. Hop
HBO:
Top Rank & Other Promoters:
122-130: Donaire, Rigondeaux, K. Martinez, Mikey Garcia, Lomachenko, Salido, Roman Martinez
140-147: Pacquiao, Marquez, Bradley, Rios, Provodnikov, Alvarado
154: Cotto, Martirosyan/Andrade (future WBO)
160: Martinez, Golovkin, Barker, Geale, Macklin
168-175: Andre Ward, Stevenson, Kovalev, Froch,
It's over, boxing is no longer about the best fighting the best. It's pure entertainment now, every company pushing their product. We just need to treat it like it's a different sport.
Oh, thought it was the other one.
Well the two on HBO would love to fight him
I'm pretty sure Stevenson and Kovalev have multi-fight contracts with HBO, so they can't switch networks.

HBO stopped working with them because Golden Boy took there biggest stars to Showtime when they couldn't get the dates they wanted.
these promoters have so many fighters they could start their own boxing company if they combined, all they would need is a sanctioning body at that point.
I wish thats how it worked :/

Showtime/GBP want Stevenson and that fight isn't happening so long as Adonis is with HBO, IMO. They rejected Hopkins-Kovalev, why would HBO approve Adonis-Hopkins?
