Rios has an uncanny ability to get off a shot while getting hit. Of course, if you watch the Abril fight, you'll say to yourself, not a chance in hell against Pacquiai, BUT, Abril purely pot shotted and turned him all night.
Manny's gonna look for that KO all night, and he'll be in the line of fire. Rios doesn't need to take shots, reset, then attack. He can attack while taking shots. If there's anyone with the chance to catch you in the middle of an exchange, its guys like Rios and Danny Garcia.
Trust me. This fight will test Manny more than you guys think.
Rios is not JMM who can and will punch in between Manny's punches.
Rios is so slow that Manny will unload a 5 punch combo and be out of range by the time Rios retaliates.
Manny is going to fight Rios like how he fought ODLH and Margarito.

But when he lost to Alvarado, you killed him. #Hypocrite
He doesn't have one punch power, not even at lightweight did he. He wears guys down by smothering them and through accumulation.
Hes slow, flat footed, he has never fought a single southpaw before or fought at the weight and only had two at 140, was losing one, lost the other not to mention coming off a loss at lightweight in a shut out and multiple struggles with fighters who are Euro level at best.
Everytime he has fought anybody who hasn't stood in front of him hes either lost or been left virtually clueless.
All-in-all he is made to order and complete and utter useless to be quite honest. He is extremely limited. He will do his usual plod forward as that is the only thing he knows how to do & Manny eats guys like that alive.
If Manny is operating at even 40% he still destroys Rios. Hes not going the distance.
I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. Manny at 100% has trouble with Brandon. He'll apply that pressure same way he did against a faster Acosta and a faster Peterson and make him fight(who at the time were 2 of the best in the division). Manny was great but come November 23rd everyone will be talking about Rios vs. Provodnikov PPV and how Provodnikov is going to beat him. I can see it already. Rios all day
I know this is the right mindset for PAC coming from a KO loss but knowing PAC he will just do the same thing he was doing before....
Yeah pac will try to ko him don't get me wrong, however he will still be a bit more cautious then he's been in the past
Well yes however I think pac will be more disciplined this time round, he would have learnt from his mistakes last time round and he will just look to outbox him more then to ko him

Hes never felt power or seen speed like Mannys & hes noway near the counter puncher Manny is. If he opens up he will get savaged.
Sure hes lost a step or two but look what Manny did to Cotto, Hatton, Diaz, Margarito when they tried to throw with him.
It took Marquez, a master technician and superb counterpuncher, 42 rounds was it? And Rios is going to replicate that?
This is a mismatch of epic proportions. I don't give Rios a punchers chance, nothing. I think if he does somehow win for me its probably the biggest upset in boxing history and yes he should retire immediately.
I'm not talking about counterpunching. I'm talking about punching back while being tagged. Like how Garcia does it.
That's the point. Manny's going out there to finish him off quickly. The thing is, Rios can punch back while getting tagged. That's a recipe for a hail Mary KO if I've ever seen one.

And we're also forgetting that he hired Ariza now, because he can afford to. That's either gonna be huge, or mean nothing, because he would've been TKOd by round 8.

Trust me, he has 1 punch power, if he catches you in an exchange. Anyone does. You see how Bradley caught JMM in 2 separate exchanges.

Look I know he lost to Alvarado cuz mike boxed well enough to win but he's not a bum. Rios will bring it! If manny knocks him out I'll be impressed.
Am I really supposed to believe a punchbag who went life and death with John Murray is a good test for any version of Manny?
Hes a punchbag who throws absolutely nothing unless you stand right in front of him. Hes slow, he has predictable and painfully limited, never fought at welterweight and has no chance.
Hes absolutely made for Manny too look nothing short of brilliant against. With Rios non existant defense I won't be surprised if he gets brutalised inside a round or two.

It flies in the face of reality that a 2nd tier JWW moving up to WW will be a test for one of the 10 best fighters in the world simply because manny made a mistake and got KO'd his last fight.
Its more realistic to think TR got manny a fight with a name fighter who fights in a style that makes him seem more dangerous than he is. The fact is this is a great fight for manny to get in some rounds and get a KO victory-which truthfully, benefits not only TR, HBO and Macau, but all of boxing.
but the pressure is on pac to look good so even if he learned from his pass mistake i dont think that will stop him if the crowds starts booing, etc.
Fully agree. There's no way Pac's gonna play it safe with his food. That's why Rios is a great test for his chin.
When has PAC ever played it safe with a massive underdog?
