Akeem Anifowoshe died from complications from injuries sustained in his bout against Robert Quiroga about 3 years later, it was the FOTY for 1991. Great fight, tragic consequences.
Pedro "El Rockero" Alcazar died after his fight with Fernando Montiel.
Also, I believe Ricardo Cordoba (the one who fought Rigondeaux in the undercard of Manny Pacquiao's cowboy stadium PPV) killed a fighter from Colombia
Jesus Chavez killed Levandor Johnson. I remember watching that fight and Chavez was just battering this guy, but he wouldn't go down and the ref refused to stop it.
This is without looking anything on the internet. Jimmy Garcia by Gabe Ruelas, Johnny Owen by Lufe Fintor, "I am missing a letter on my Keyboard, Faul Ingle died after a fight. I am missing the p on my keyboard, I cofied and fasted that one.

Recently I remember Delvin Rodriguez putting Oscar Diaz into a coma on ESPN2
Emile Griffith beating Benny Paret to death on national TV is one of the more famous ones.
Some guy died after Ray Mancini beat him up, Korean fighter I believe
His name was Duk Koo Kim. He's the first man that always comes to mind for me. The Cuban HOFer, "Sugar" Ramos, killed two men in the ring: Davey Moore and Jose Blanco. Sadly, there have been too many more.
And Eubank was never the same after Watson. Lost his desire to look for the KO, just cruise to points victories.
I'm surprised Kovalev still retained his insane KO instincts.
Such a shame. But a wake up call for those who criticize boxers that retire or are retired by their corners. Boxing is brutal and as much as we love the sport we should appreciate how much these guys put on the line when they step into the ring for our entertainment.
Boxing is definitely a courageous sport. The guys have balls of iron steel knowing the worst could happen. Hell, it has to be extremely traumatic for the boxer who killed his opponent.
Kovalev was shaken up alot after Simakov's death I believe he even dedicated his entire fight Purse to Simakov's parents/family but he's doing well now, still knocking guys out and considered one of the top brutal punchers in the sport. Nigel Benn I t hink was never the same after what he did to Mclellan
I think Sugar Ray Robinson killed a boxer in the ring. What really was even more ominous was that Sugar Ray days before the fight had a nightmare that it would happen and wanted to cancel the fight but his minister advised him that it wouldn't happen.
Were the oponents ever the same i dout it.omar chavez took his oponents out in 2 or 3 rounds after nazareth he struggles with his oponents ive seen him since his first fight and he doesnt fight the same
