So according to UFC fanboys our sport is dying right? UFC hyped Velasquez vs Dos Santos as THE fight! The winner will be the baddest man on the planet, Boxing cant sell **** unless its Pacquaio or Mayweather... bla bla bla.
Another proof that Boxing is the number one Combat Sport!

btw ufc is a private company so they are not obligated to release numbers but I find funny that some years ago during the liddell and lesnar times dana always released the numbers and said they were taking over from boxing, the last two years he has released some and it seems they are not as great, I think they already hit a plateau during those times... plus hes oversaturating the public with shows every couple weeks or monthly..
I bought last Saturday's UFC PPV and it was great with one of the greatest fights ever with Melendez vs Sanchez.
yup, me too, I buy both ufc and boxing events, my preference will always be boxing tho.. most ufc fans will choose a fight with stand up guys and not grapplers, so in a way most ufc fans are boxing fans even if they don't want to admit it... im a huge velasquez and diaz fan...
Of course not
Who pays for online streams anyway? All those sites do is find free streams and post them on their sites and charge for them
No...He's talking about PPV streams UFC and Top Rank have it where you can order a fight streaming on to your device through the interenet for the same price if you don't have HBO, cable etc.
I assume these also count for PPV numbers. Not the free streaming sites.
Do paid online streams (through UFC.com, XBOX Live) count towards PPV buy rates?
Of course not

IT'S funny when GSP-Diaz did more that Floyd-Guerrero you didn't see a thread about it:Flush:

None of these two sports will ever die.
I cant stand UFC or MMA, I think the "sport" is very ugly, even though boxing may be more damaging it's very much more beautiful to watch.
and they pay their fighters like crap. profitable business, that. they spent out of their asses to promote it early on, and are reaping the rewards.
Dana's response, go out and get fight of the night, KO of the night or submission of the night. I like the incentive... but he still shouldn't be paying them like crap
UFC does a PPV every month yet they still do solid numbers that any non-Pacquiao/Mayweather fight would LOVE to have.

I bet topic starter have a small wee wee. What's with all this boxing vs ufc thing?? Seems like only the the boxing fans feel threatened over this?? The ufc fans is too busy buying tap out shirts while the boxing fans stays talking and comparing boxing to ufc. I will say this though thruout the whole ufc166 joe rogan was hyping jds vs cain comparing it to Ali vs Frazier lol
Im slightly above average.
Plus check Sherdog, u will find a lot of Threads bashing Boxing.

They averaged 378k PPV buys in 2012. Solid numbers but they promote MMA as the fastest growing sport in the world and that it took over Boxing etc. They didnt sell over 1M PPV since Lesnar and Lidell retired.
Dave Meltzer hasn't posted anything since yesterday. Steve Kim just retweeted some other guy with no source.
Check Dave Meltzers and Steve Kims Twitter feed.
Checked Steve Kim and there was only a retweet of somebody saying they got outsold without any numbers
i'll watch the big mma fights but have never and wont ever order them. i'll watch a/o order everything boxing, amatuer shows, pro events, on tv, ppv etc....
I am not surprised at all by this. Juan Manuel Marquez is the best active Mexican fighter in the world today. Canelo is much more popular imo though. But you put Marquez on a card you have a very large following from the Hispanic community tuning in and Bradley is a known fighter and contributes also. This was a very 50-50 competitive fight so I am not surprised it did better than a ufc card. I personally never had any type of interest in mma so I dont watch it.
